How do i know if the 4gb patch worked?

I had trouble downloading the 4gb patch so i just did it through the FOMM. Don't know if i did it correctly though so is there a way for me to know?

why? 4gb is a exe. you put it with the game exe(you do know were that is do you?) is this the mod http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/62552/?
then read the page Place the exe in your Fallout New Vegas game folder and run it
- You may need to run the patcher in admin mode
- It will patch the game and make a backup of the original executable
- Launch the game normally through your mod manager, directly, the Default Launcher, or Steam
- Make your ini files read only if you launch through Steam or the Default Launcher
anyway any 4gb goes to the same place. mod manager don't put mods were the game's exe it it goes in the data folder(if i remember right). what i am saying is you must manually install. Next time read the mod page before downloading.

Was there a little green loading bar before you booted up the game
Also, IIRC, it's just something you apply to the main EXE of the game.

I'm very new to installing mods for New Vegas. So to say that means these simple instructions are unclear to me. Do I put it in the Data Folder for New Vegas? Or New Vegas folder itself?

C:\Games\Nexus Mod Manager\FalloutNV\Mods
(Do I put it in Mods?)

no, when useing NMM click on the big green plus sign, then add file from folder. this is for manually installing mods. go and watch Gopher youtube for more infoon how to mod. yes its out of date but the basics are there, watch even the Skyrim ones there moded the the same way(don't use other games mods with FONV goes with out saying but i typed this in anyway) now go and get your learning on. start here https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL0E5E8CA384409B11
but the 4gb patcher goes C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\FalloutNewVages
like i said it goes where the exe is (the game) i no longer have it installed so i forgot the name of the exe(Fallout NV i think)
