Anything I can do to fix this?
I too killed follows chalk my first go at it, but when the game prompted me with a giant quest failed and gave me a new quest, I realize I ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up and loaded a previous save like logic would dictate.
Explain
Funny thing, that.
I guess they don't have a... courier to bring them news.
Nah they don't attack you with ncr armour here. It's just there's a scripted event where the first guy attacks you across the bridge after the caravan dies, and follows chalk shows up behind him and kills him . But if you're like me and you get shot at, then see two guys standing side by side, you shoot at them both.
They arent in Ohio are they? I thought that was Utah?
Those two are the reason this whole thing is ruined? Awesome.
You're the one who shot first at a named character
Just this first play through was the one where you killed zion and walked out of there. You can still get the unique armours and better side story from the cave terminals.
Don't feel too bad. You might be upset now that you screwed the dlc story, but then if you did another play through anticipating this missed dlc the whole time, you'll be doubly upset when you realize the story and quests suck.
WTF just happened is that the developers created multiple paths through the DLC - you found the one where everything in Zion goes to ♥♥♥♥ because some trigger-happy muderhobo wandered in and started shooting before he knew what was going on.
Its sort of the hallmark of a good RPG that there are lot's of possibilities, covering lot's of potential player actions, and some of them end up in 'unconventional game overs' rather than the linear 'but though must' playthroughs of AAA 'rpgs'.
People want freedom of choice? You got it.
