Anyone try playing caravan in real life?
Just curious. I find caravan to be hugely underrated and a fun little minigame to play ingame when im just chilling after a quest. Most people seem to think its a waste of time or dont understand it, but has anyone tried playing it for real?

I was thinking of trying it out with my friend but i want to use the collectors edition playing cards which are extremely hard to get a hold of lol

Too much of a hassle to teach someone to play that game instead of the traditional card games. Woudn't mind playing it though if I meat a fellow fallout fan who plays/played fnv.

I've tried it. It's fun to play against a human instead of the predictable, forgiving AI in the game. Downside is that nobody really understands it, so it ends up not being that much of a bigger challenge anyways.

I love it but my friends don't want to play, they're busy playing Texas Hold 'Em or Poker

I played caravan with a friend once. Pretty fun, but it was a pain to teach him how to play because he never heard of caravan before and didn't quite understood in the first place.

I know this was posted a month ago but, screw it, I'm frankly amazed anyone else bothered to actually play it irl.

I played Caravan when I was in college and, since my roommate and his friends were New Vegas fans and were already familiar with the rules, actually had a pretty great time of it. In lieu of being able to pilfer cards from irradiated raider hideouts we developed two different systems to play it: "Saint's Caravan" which split the deck in half (each player getting one suite of each color), and "Sinner's Caravan" which gave each player two decks of playing cards which they could use to customize their own Caravan deck (note: best used with novelty card decks so you're not sitting there 45 minutes after the game trying to figure out which cards go back into each deck).

Saint's Caravan was great for really quick games, usually only lasting 10-15 minutes (if that), but replaying got stale real quick. Sinner's Caravan was great not only because it lasted longer, but also because it gave us all a reason to dig out those zombie/kitten/steampunk/etc. themed card decks that previously were just collecting dust, although it came with the caveat of being a pain to set up and take down.

I was actually gonna try to teach my best friend Caravan soon, testing out with Saint's Caravan first and then working up to Sinner's Caravan. Sinner's Caravan can be tricky since you can basically set yourself up for failure if your deck isn't neatly trimmed (I lost my first 4 games just because I kept holding on to Every Card).

I don't know why I typed all that out tbh, I guess I'm just happy that I'm not the only one who thought to try it. Best of luck at trying to (maybe) teach your friend and get those Collector's Edition cards though.
