Anyone know how to make good looking characters without mods?

Nope.
Never tried.
A quick lumpy potato face, then play in first person and picture whatever I want.

Always had a potato face using vanilla fnv character creation so nope.

I tried to look like Stallone from Rambo using default caucasian male, blast back hair and that facial hail with small trims. Looked like a dork.

Don't always start with the default face-preset for each race, scroll through each one until you find one similar to what you're going for.

Also try to remember that 3/NV isn't high realism, there is some cartoony stylization. Attempting to play as Brad Pitt will inevitably result in failure.

medium high cheekbones
concave cheeks

that is all

Just give in and mod the game. Character Overhaul makes some great looking women. Unfortunately, my first replay of Vegas is going to be as a hooker with the Coito sum mod, and Character overhaul is turned off by that mod.

not sure why my post looks like that. My statement is the second paragraph.
