Fallout New Vegas Mod: Roleplayers Alternative Start won't work

Ok so I activated the mod and everything, and when I loaded up the game I even started in the shack where you start out with that mod. I was able to interact with everything, exept for the part where I choose my characters race, and because I cant choose that, I cant get out of the shack. I have tried restarting the game and disabling and re-enabling the mod. This is my first time downloading a mod from nexus, and I need help.

make sure archive invalidation is on from the nexus menus.

click on the screwdriver-wrench icon on the top, and see if archive invalidation has a check. if it doesnt, click on it.

make sure you have all the requirements, it requires NVSE.

Ok, so it has a check and I downloaded the NVSE, but after I download that is there anything else I have to do with it?? Also do i download the stable version or the beta version. Thanks!

what did you do to fix the problem? the same thing is happeing for me and i cant figure it out.
