Faction Armour Lowering Reputation With Said Faction?

Err why is it that when I take NCR armor off im neutral but without it im Accepted? Opposite day?

The disguise system was very hackily implemented.

Essentially, setting your reputation to Neutral is a lot less complex than setting it to a "Not Bad" one.

If they'd recognize you with the armor on, it wouldn't be working, right? You're disguising yourself as a random grunt, of course you're neutral.

I dont see how having an NCR uniform conceals my face.

I wanna B NCR but I cant cos just to speak to people Ive gotta look like some gay wastelander

You can. Your real reputation keeps changing even when wearing a uniform. Like it'll say neutral, but officers see through your disguise and see your real reputation behind the disguise (if you're vilified, it will say neutral so normal people in that faction don't attack you, but an officer of that faction sees through the disguise and will treat you like you're vilified). So if you're idolized, wear the uniform then regular grunts see your uniform and you're just a nameless soldier, but the officers will see you as the idolized hero.

If you wanna wear ncr armor without the disguise system being used, wear some deasert ranger armor or riot gear from dlc's. I'm sure there are also mods that add non-disguise versions of the regular troop armors.

Yea, as stated, this was something that was very hacked together (which I attribute to the insanely small development window). There are two mods you may want to consider for this based on your sentiments:

*This is the mod I normally use as I feel it makes the "Disguise" system make more sense overall for the purposes of RP. As a bonus it also makes a couple tweaks to the Reputation System in general, like adding back in Primm Reputation and such, which is nice.

*This mod basically does exactly what you seem to want on the tin. You will still maintain your positive Reputation with a Faction if you have one, and that is it for the changes.
