I've had this problem many times before, but im at a loss for remembering on how to fix it. You might want to try to update your mouse's Drivers or even set your game to borderless windowed.

If this has to do with clicking on menus, it is likely the bug where if you leave the "Data" section of the Pip-Boy on the "Local Map" or "World Map" it can jack up the mouse response in the menus. The solution would be to use keyboard keys to navigate over to the "Data" section and switch off the map and you should be all set again.

It will eventually fix it self when you restart your computer

I found the issue. I had my ps3 controller drivers on, so it thought i was using that. Disabled the drivers and back to normal.

Hi Red Eye, just logged in to say thank you, your suggestion fixed my issue right away. I can't imagine how you figured that out, but thank you for taking the time to share it.

I was having a similar problem however the INI change did not fix it, but I found a fix so i's sharing it where I can.

Running in compatibility mode for windows 8 Fixes it for me. Go to the game folder and right click in the game EXE, open Properties and turn on compatibility for windows 8, click Apply.
I was able to use this fix for FalloutNV, Fallout 3, Oblivion and Assassins Creed Black Flag.
Other solutions I was using before I found this were

*Restarting my computer.

*Closing steam through task manager and starting the game without steam.
(not sure why that worked but it did)

I Should specify exactly what the bug I'm having is. For some reason the game is not in focus even when you alt-tab to it. If you move your mouse around, it does move only under the game. If you don't have multiple monitors like me then you would not notice this. this glitch does not seem related to controllers, however for Black Flag I was able to control the game with controller. Like I said, running in compatibility fixes this. You can even launch thru steam and it still works.

It seams like this is not a Bethesda exclusive bug so if anyone is having this problem in any other game then try it and it might work.

I found my fix here https://steamcommunity.com/app/22330/discussions/0/1290691308580751540/?ctp=2
It also tells how to fix a similar problem but it only works for Bethesda games. It has to do with changing the INI and may work if the other fix does not. note it is a fix for oblivion however it does work for new Vegas. just apply it to
