ULTRAWIDE fallout NW FIX

so this is for 2560x1080 but of course you can set it to whatever resolution you want :D

Launch the game. The launcher will appear, here set your resolution to the 16:9 version of your 21:9 screen, e.g for 2560x1080 you would select 1920x1080. Then close the launcher.

Next open FalloutPrefs.ini
Just search for it in your doccuments

Then make the following changes to each section within this document (remember the numbers used are from my game to run at 2560x1080)

[Display]
Modify iSize w from iSize W=1920, to iSize W=2560
Change fDefaultFOV from fDefaultFOV=75, to fDefaultFOV=95

[RenderedTerminal]
Change fRenderedTerminalZoom=33 to fRenderedTerminalZoom=75

Then save the file and close it and run the game.

Hope this helps some of you out there with ultrawide monitors and want the full experience. keep in mind this will have minor restrictions such as when using machines like at the start of the game it will zoom in on it more. not a deal breaker and definetly made my experience 100% better.

Incase of terminal error: Look at the bottom right hand side of the screen and you will BARELY see the glowing orange button to get out of a computer terminal. Hover your mouse as close as you can to it and click and it should close!

Thank you so much man, I just started playing but there was no fDefaultFOV section for me? I changed the rest of the stats though, and the game looked beautiful, but trying to use the machine right at the beginning of the game is preventing me from progressing. It's so zoomed in I'm unable to pick my stats and go through. I can't find any keyboard buttons to go through, it seems to require using the mouse, and my mouse is limited of course because the screen is too zoomed in... :( This is my favorite Fallout of all time, and I so want to get back into this amazing game!

Oh my god dude, I'm an idiot. So I did end up finding the FOV part of the file, I just assumed it wasn't there because I used the Ctrl+F function to search for it and for whatever reason it never picked it up. Or maybe it wasn't there when I first looked for whatever reason since I hadn't fully launched the game before?
Idk, but anyways, I still had the same problem with the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. machine in the beginning. I thought I tried everything with buttons to get through but... apparently I didn't try arrow keys? I mega facepalmed. I mean, it's 2018, what game uses the arrow keys anymore? ... But have to keep in mind this is an older game haha. So I used the arrow keys to get through and so far so good! Sorry I'm a moron when it comes to this stuff lol, but thank you so much for posting this easy fix! :D

so I got past the vigor tester fine, but I cant exit terminals cause the exit button is off screen lol

Hmmm. Only thing i can think is is the display area turned down or maybe you put in a wrong digit? Lol been a while

I’ve just found my first issue I don’t think can be fixed. For whatever reason I can’t use the terminal in the Lucky 38 presidential suite to upgrade the suite. I can pull up the terminal but can’t buy the upgrades. Damn :(
