Oblivion or New Vegas?
I played both a while ago and loved both. To be honest I played New Vegas a lot more than The Elber Scrolls Oblivion, but I have been feeling like getting back into oblivion. Either way I want to start either Oblivion or New Vegas again on my PC. Which should I go for? Both are $10 with all DLC editions.

I did play a lot of Oblivion, but it was way before New Vegas and so I forgot a good portion of the game. Plus I never played much of the Oblivion DLCs, where I played all but the last DLC for new vegas. I really like booooooooth thooooooough. I need some concrete reasoning here please.

I'd say New Vegas because it has more replay value. Oblivion is good insofar as it has a lot of guilds for the player to join, and that offers a measure of replayability, but the MQ only has one possible ending, whereas NV offers several possible endings with an astounding number of variations.

I guess it depends on what you want to play more, a high fantasy rpg with magic and elves and demons, or a sci-fi post apocalypse rpg with mutants and plasma weapons.

New Vegas has more focus on story and choice and consequence in dialogue and quests, while oblivion focuses on exploring and doing guild quest lines but really gas little to no choices in quests (but the guild quests are among the best guild quest of any elder scrolls game).

Shivering isles expansion is the best dlc or expansion Bethesda ever made (and actually offers choices) with a unique world and tons of content .
New Vegas dlc is great too with an interconnected story and dead money is among my favourite dlc for any game period (shivering isles and dead money probably being at the top of my best dlc list).

Really it's a tough call. If you played new Vegas a lot more maybe you should go with oblivion if you haven't seen all the content that game has to offer (i personally have spent thousands of hours on oblivion and done every quest multiple times and seen all the content and since there's not many choices i can't really play the game anymore - though i wish I forgot every thing about oblivion so I can experience it again).

I personally think new Vegas is the better overall game, but I've had lots of fun and many hours played on both of them.

Both are great.

They're different enough that you may as well play both.

Thank you for your opinions! It is such a tough choice aaaaaa. Also same! Dead Money is such an amazing DLC! I am so glad it was made and actually makes the game be a scavanging survival plus has so much to do with riches which is fun to me. God that alone is worth the $10 for me. But also maybe I should get to experience Oblivion again uuuggghhhhh. Either way thank you again for your help. I THINK I am going for New Vegas. :fhappy:

Haha good point, I might get both sometime, but for now I think I have chosen New Vegas. Thanks for your opinion!

NV is a better base game. Oblivion is a better game with dlc's. So I'd personally do NV, though NV dlc is kind of bad.

I have to join the both wagon.

If you HAVE to just buy ONE, I'd have to point you towards New Vegas GOTY.

Oblivion is my favorite beth game, but it has not aged all too well. The case with Oblivion is its just 'overall' great, even more so when it was first released.

New Vegas on the other hand has aged alright, has a gaint replay value (One Im willing to say beats even Skyrim) and the DLCs aren't DLCs (Other than the two minor ones) they are true expandison packs.

Ofc, theres some things that come down to just what you like, so dig in to some videos, read some reviews, look at screenshots, or heck, look at them mods.

(As of typing this I see that you went with NV, hope you enjoy wondering the Mojave!)
