Fallout: New Vegas
Character stuck in aim mode (SOLVED, more or less)
My character upon loading the game is stuck in aim mode. Meaning the camera is behind him as usual but his weapon is right next to his face and holding down r won't make him put his weapon away. I also can't sprint or anything. I'm slow walking like i'm overburdened, holding down shift, and/or have caplocks on. I'm doing neither of those things. I googled how to fix it and had no luck. Only two links had people who had the same problem and one thread had like one reply and the other thread had a ton of replies but it was a bunch of bs and no one found a solution.

At first restarting the game worked but now my character's back to normal (after restarting the game a second time). I hope this doesn't ever happen to anyone else but just in case at least this post will be here so they don't feel like they were the only ones who ever experienced this glitch.
heh no such luck ,just happened to me after an afk casm save same exact issue specified and i just closed my game hoping its clear when i start it back up
Woah, it actually happened to someone else. I'm sorry you experienced that though. It's been a long time since I've played New Vegas because I have such trouble running on my laptop. Fallout 3, even with all it's bugs and sh*t, runs better than FO:NV on my laptop. I hope it clears up for you too. I just wish we knew what exactly causes it. This definitely seems like a rare glitch/bug.

Damn, and last night I started downloading FONV again because I got the urge to play it the day before yesterday. I hope you can get out of it and maybe even figure out what caused that to happen.

I hate how buggy FONV is. It legitimately makes me depressed because it's such a great game and I wish could play it often. Fallout 4 runs really well for me 95% of the time and I can play it all I want. I wish it was like that for FONV.
I found a solution that works everytime for me.
Simply remove all you mods and dlcs in the data folder. (don't remove the folders and base game)
Play the game, then quick-save in doc mitchells house.
Quit the game, then place your mods back in the data folder.
Load your save, go outside mitchells house and you wont get stuck in ads.
Hope this helps for people who have this issue!
If the problem occurs again, simply remove all your mods again and load a previous save, save the game again then place the mods back again.
This works 100% of the time for me and helps for those stressful commandline bugs, since stuff like aiming is based on triggers, and sometimes these triggers glitch and get stuck in a loop. Reloading the game without mods causes the loop to reset since the mod that caused the loop isnt in the data folder anymore.

That's incredibly bad advice - any mods with quests or scripted triggers will completely break by doing that. It can also break and softlock vanilla quests if they were effected by any of your mods. Your NVSE cosave will also be completely ♥♥♥♥♥♥.

If that "solves" problems in your game, it's because it's killing broken scripts in broken mods.

The problem is broken mods, and that's what you should be looking to remedy.
