Which DLC has the biggest map?
I'm planning on buying 2 DLC's and I wondered which have the biggest maps. Really love the freedom the fallout series has and thats amplified by big ass maps in my opinion.

Also, I kinda wonder what DLC gives the best perks and loot.

Thanks in advance.

The DLCs with the two largest maps are Honest Hearts and Old World Blues. In terms of loot, it'd probably be Lonesome Road (with the Riot Gear variants, Red Glare, etc.), though OWB and HH have pretty good stuff in them as well. As for perks, honestly, that'll heavily depend on your play style. Here's a comprehensive list of those:

You really should just wait for a sale and get them all.

Lonesome Road has a big map, but you are hand-held the whole way. It is very narrow one-way linear travel. Lots of trash to sift through to find the good stuff.

OWB is a decent map that has definite borders, but you are free to go anywhere. Lots of good loot here too.

Honest Hearts is a reasonably big open map, you just cant always go where you want. Good loot, but kinda sparse.

Dead Money is a small map, but once you are there, you wouldnt want it any bigger. It is treacherous, dangerous and dark. Good loot is hard to find, but money is stupid easy.

I'd recommend HH and OWB as they have big open maps that arent just one long path with some small distractions like lonesome road or filled with enemies, bomb collars and gas clouds making you unable to go there for extended amounts of time

i personaly like honest hearts and old world blues quite a lot, and of all of the DLC, i would suggest getting them over the others first. however, if you dont mind waiting, new vegas goes on sale quite a lot, and you can pick up all the DLC for very cheap (which is probably the best course of action.)

anyway, going on the 4 story DLC.

dead money is rather odd, the most opinions i have heard on it is you ether hate or love it. i dont care for it, least liked of the 4, but it is very good. more horror-survival then the base game, you cant bring items in, and you cant return once you leave.

honest hearts i think is maybe my favorite, it also has little to do with the over-arching story of the other DLC, so if story is important, then this one is safe to play seperate. its environment is perhaps also the most like the mojave, except more lively (lots of foliage and animals.) the biggest gripe i think i have with it is that all the important characters leave after the story end, leaving the canyon rather empty with just some blank tribals and random animals.

old world blues has a a vein of humor throbbing in it, if you find it funny or excruciating you will have to decide for yourself. it has a lot of extra places to go that have nothing except some fluff text, maybe an item for one of the couple 'find these items that are scattered all over' quests.

lonesome road has a very serious vibe in it, that feel of walking the final road to the final boss lair. rather linear, but it is the only one you can leave and return at will, all the others you have to stay in the worldspace untill you finish the story. it has some of the hardest enemies, and most hazardous areas, with some very valuable loot to be had. it also is the only DLC with perks that require a level over 34, meaning you need more then lonesome road on its own to get them.

there are also gun runners arsenal, and couriers stash. couriers stash you can safely skip, its just the pre-order content that you get right at the start to make you overpowered, a bunch of weapons and armor, a couple special variants on base game items. gun runners arsenal adds a bunch of new weapons, mods, and ammo types to the vendors of the mojave, including uniques for most of the base game weapons that didnt get any.

Strongly recommend getting all 4 story DLC and playing at least roughly in the right order (which mostly means leave Lonesome Road for last). Each one has a very distinct feel, but their stories reference each other and build up to a fantastic and chill-inducing conclusion in Lonesome Road. Gameplay-wise I liked all the DLC, although Dead Money can get tedious in its early-middle section. Incredible atmosphere, though.

Gun Runner's Arsenal is pretty neat, but yeah, Courier's Stash makes you a bit overpowered at the beginning. Not that the gear you get is amazing, but it's good enough to remove the feeling of desperation that really low-level characters are usually supposed to feel. At least during the earliest stages.

I'am agree with him just wait for lower prices because buying those DLC cause each map of each DLC has unique feeling DM, OWB, LR, and HH each map has a very specific atmosphere.

Plus all DLC are "connected" so if I was you, i'l wait because is better to buy all 4 "main" DLC than only buying 2 only for the biggest map.

I just payed Honest hearts and OWB. Every DLC makes you overpowerd Thats a down side so you should play them if you think you're finished with the base game.
I liked OWB the most. It's challanging hard the robots pissed me off and nice backround stroy of Mr. House.
HH dissapointed me a bit because Joshua graham says nothing intresting at all,The weapons you get here are more for melee char and it feels like empty
So just the way Fallout dlcs are.

Lonesome Road (Can bring everything you have. Go Alone. Can get back anytime)

Map : It's a whole city that turned in to the biggest ruin in the game so yes, it's BIG. Almost no safe ground to walk so game will force you to proceed on the strict method. You can see the size of the map but also feel the limited way to "walk".
Loot : Really good to boost your main game. Ed-E's upgrades (daily free repair and free ammo) Advance Riot Gear (The coolest outfit in normal game) and more deadly weapon (Red Glare etc.) that make you powerful enough to slap death claw's butt. And If you choose the fire the nuke in the end of dlc, you can get dlc's power armor depend on your choice, NCR or Legion style)

Honest Heart (Weight limit 100 at first. Go Alone. Free access but must finish first)

Map : Zion National park. Yes, the whole park with Mountains and Rivers and Camps and Caves so it's BIG...I thinks it smaller than LR but you can free running almost the map. Nothing stop you from climb the mountain or swim in the river so you can feel the freedom like take a vacation in the national park.
Loot : ...Nothing powerful to risk to get but a cool handgun (Graham's) and a few melee weapon (She's, Salt's Power fist, a fire sword...forgot the name tho). Only few things you could use when get back to main game so just feel like take a vacation from the ruined world is not bad tho.

Old World Blues (Will be Naked, Go Alone, Free access but must finish first)

Map : A whole wasted mountain crater. So it's BIG. Feel like walk in the industrial estate with many factories and test site. You can also run from place to place freely like HH but give you sci-fi, wasteland cyber punk feeling.
Loot : A bunch of unique weapons and items in here. Cybernetic Surgery, Photon axes, K9s, Halo, Stealth suit etc. Even player home ! The Best Loot in game that make you OP af and able to kick the whole legion in The Fort all by your self. And also very helpful when you want to proceed LR dlc.

Dead Money (Will be Naked, Go Alone, Cannot re-access after finished)

Map : A whole casino town but already ruined. So it's pretty small in size but you will not concern about it when you play because there are so many things you should pay attention to. Seriously, if it bigger than this, it will more horrifying and harder to survive. Walking is not allow if you need to stay stealth so get the needed PERK before come here. (Bloody mess is to kill the Ghost and ...something that make you go faster when crouching. Forgot the name tho) This dlc require you to back track to proceed the quest so no-need to bigger than this imo.

Loot : Both Police pistol and Automatic rifle is crap. Not that great when you get back and access GR's shop in main game but Holorifle is really nice. Security armors are also good looking in wasteland. Vera and Dean's outfit are not good in fight but also sexy and unique. But the point is GOLD BARs. Heavy AF ! Grab as much as you can, beware your weigh load tho. You can sell them for the tons of Caps (if you can find the merchant that rich enough to buy it)....And you can use the chips you collected to buy item from vending machine. As long as you got the chip, it's unlimited food and stuff to buy. May be useful if you play the hardcore mode...but not that necessary tho.
