It would be a crap shoot frankly, it all depends on the graphics chip. All you can really do is try it, and if it doesn't work get a refund. And no, you can't upgrade the graphics in a laptop, you'll need to get an all new rig.

i am playing fallout new vegas on intelhd 5500 intergrated graphics, if you put the graphics right you can get 20-40 sometimes but goodsprings is the worst for fps so dont go back there

plus i have 78 installed mods and it still works fine

with laptops, you can only upgrade RAM. you should put a fan under it to make sure it cools properly.

then it should be OK most of the time.

It runs okay on HD 4000. It runs very poorly on anything below.

There's a "Fallout NV on a Laptop" mission floating around on the web with mods that eliminate clutter as well as offer many other optimizations; was visiting forums all over regarding the discussion in an attempt to get FONV running on an EeePC with an Intel Atom - managed to get it to run up to the face modelling (more than likely ran out of RAM). Intel HD 4000 should be adequate assuming you go into bios and allot it as much "shared" video memory as you can (512MB is generally very good) while ensuring you still have 1-2 solid gigabytes of RAM left for the game.

I'm running it on an Intell 5500 at 720 with lowered details and I tend to get a steady 50fps. Just set it for low and you should be ok. I did turn up the draw distance some on characters because enimies were showing up on my HUD before I could even see them.

I have an intel 5500 HD and the performance is smooth for me with everything down

I just bought a ‘new’ MB with one of these integrated in and I have a GT1030 which I will be using and my main GPU and I got an AMD 6 core processor to go with it, I should run FONV easily

With 6 cores (physical) at a decent speed most certainly. I almost had FNV running on an Intel Atom with shared video memory in a EeePC --not joking. Integrated graphics on the newer chips (Intel and AMD) should be more than enough. Remember to look up and get mods for CPU and RAM support though.

My laptop has MX150 graphics the mobile version of the GT 1030, you should find you can run the game with not too many issues.

I'm able to play it with MSI B360 Mortar Titanium and i3 8100, no GPU. It's a bit slow but playable.

FNV like FO3 use CPU based graphics processing (blitting) and no GPU (hardware graphics acceleration) at all. The faster your CPU the better and in most cases, concerning newer CPU speeds and architectures, lag is probably due to cycle hogging back ground processes and services. Use utilities like AKAP (auto kill any process [it's freeware]) and kill non-essential background processes and services prior to gaming and you will see noticeable performance and stability gains.

Every current CPU (Intel and AMD) have more than enough bandwidth to play the game.

You may want to mod FNV in order to leverage more RAM; additionally, believe FNV capable of utilizing, at a maximum, 2 physical CPU cores --think it defaults to using 1 core though. There are tweaking guides and a few mods that greatly improve performance and stability and recommend that anyone new to FO3 & FNV become familiar with them (youTube, Fallout Wikia, Nexus & ModDB primarily) to improve their experience with the titles dramatically.

It's been a while since my last FO3 & FNV romp through the wastelands so anyone capable of correcting any errata in my statements are endorsed. Take care.

False. FO3 and New Vegas do use the GPU. Years ago, I had onboard graphics before as well, and my performance improved substantially once I installed a GPU. My CPU was unchanged throughout all that time.

I'm running on Intel HD Graphics 1000 and 2 gb ram, it should run well
