So far the perks i have are:

Shotgun surgeon
Educated

The two traits i picked were:

Fast shot

So i have two questions, are the perks and traits i picked good and are there any perks that are very good? I'm going for a crit build

Life Giver if you have like Endurance 4 or something, that'll come up soon. That's an additonal 30 HP.

Strong Back will also come up if you have a decent Strength, thats +50 carry capacity

I'd suggest picking up Jury Rigging once you get your repair skill up to 90. It allows you to repair similar weaposn with other similar weapons. Basically, keep your good weapons in good repair in exchange for cheap items.

So you're are going for a spammy shotgun critical build? Get the crit-related perks like finesse and better criticals. Jury Rigging is also good for any character, especially when you have Built to Destroy.
There is also that perk that gives shotguns a chance to knock down targets, and the Hand Loader perk lets you make better ammo.

As Sonic and Manns said, get jury and never spend half your caps on repairing *A* gun again.
I'd get Strong back, as it can help if you make the romans mad and they send guys with super sleges, and Cowboy if you want a longer ranged weapon with your shottys. Also, I'm guessing you have most/all DLCs, right?

Heh.

I'd have rec'd more EN since more en = more implants = more stats. so you take a point off say strength, and add a point of EN and use the extra implant slot to increase Strength.

Same with PE.

Anyways crit builds I like Lasers. So Laser commander.

I take Grunt to help with the honest hearts guns 'a light shining in the darkness' and survivor's rifle.

But as a crit build all you *need* is the compliance regulator. to make the game pretty trivial.

its a laser pistol with a 10 second stun effect on critical found near the start of honest hearts.

which works on literally everything in the game. then you swap over to a damage gun and pop it in the head. or...just walk away.

Oh and pick up finesse and better criticals obviously.

if you had more endurance, i would have suggested implant GRX, which is great fun to use. (add chemist and day tripper, should be a full 80 seconds of free turbo every day!)

jury rigging is a must, boost repair for it especialy. (buy varmit rifles and single shotguns, repair broken trail carbines and anti material rifles with them, sell for massive profit!)

handloader if you like guns, vigilant recycler if you like energy weapons, and mad bomber if you like explosives. (match rounds, optimized cells, and MFC grenades!)

if you sneak and go for sneak attacks a lot, then better criticals is good. (totaling to about 6x times normal damage for sneak attack criticals!)

strong back and burden to bear are nice for a hoarder. (extra 100 carry weight, with max strength, thats 350!)

thems good eatn is good for money or easy healing. (75 or 150 caps each for thin red paste or blood sausage respectively. at 0.1 and 0.25 weight each, that stacks, and it can drop from ANYTHING.)

It's a lifesaver if you're using something like power armor or really high-end weapons, especially if you're playing the DLCs.

I consider it a waste of a perk myself. Once you can create Repair Kits, it's really not at all difficult to keep your weapons in good shape, and armour doesn't degrade fast enough to really worry about it too much. Plus, in time you end up with a ridiculous amount of caps, so it's not a problem to get someone to repair things for you.

i have over 20k caps, but still its kinda expensive to repair some weapons..any other suggestions how can i repair them other way except paying somebody to do it? ofc i can find other weapons and use them to repair but im talking here about the rare ones, hard to find...and who are expensive even to buy
