Is it me or is the animal friend perk OP?
Both ranks I mean, for example, I am currently playing a pro-NCR playthrough, so I got attacked by legionary assassins, however before They even got to me they were wiped out by a dozen or so nightstalkers, and I was a low level when i was trying to attack driver nelpi, he ended up chasing me into a ranch where a bunch of animals mauled him. Can anyone else try this perk and tell me if im just lucky or if the perk is OP?

Question: Does this perk inclued Death Claws? If so, then probably op. Also, that sounds really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ funny. Was it those giant bighorners?

Nah, it's definitely useful but not overpowered. I think it's not worth it personally because you need to waste special points in Charisma to use it, I think the Charisma special itself sucks.

You can have a Courier with a Charisma of 1 and still be a diplomat. With tags and a good intelligence.

Deaths claws aren't considered animals by the game.

I believe they are tagged as monsters by the game. In any case the animal friend doesn't have any have effect on deathclaws. You can test it yourself.

Animal Friend is most defenitely useful, but not Overpowered by any standard. Earlygame it can be very useful, but Mid-Lategame when you have good weapons, good armor, and good companions, or when you are fighting tough enemies, the animals will not do a damn, not to mention the fact that you have to be in an area with an abundance of animals for it to be useful, making it useless in every DLC except for Honest Hearts, and even there it doesn't work on Yao Guai. Not to mention, Deathclaws will still rip you a new one.

It's actually not a bad perk to have in Old World Blues for the Nightstalkers that constantly spawn around X-13.

True, but Nightstalkers aren't that bad in Old World Blues considering how you start off with Heartless, which makes you immune to their poison, and you get a really good armor (Stealth Suit) AND Extremely good melee weapons (Protonic inversal axe, Super-Heated Saturnite Power Fist) and Good Guns (L.A.E.R, Christines C.O.S. Silencer Rifle).

I think they are annoying without the stonewall perk. All it takes is 1 knockdown and they can kill your courier easily.
Super-Heated Saturnite fist is unarmed not melee.
