Question on Tale of Two Wastelands built-in leveling tweak.
Does anyone know how well this works? Any thorough tests?

Earlier this year I started with the vanilla only TTWL and a mod I found online that just simply reduced all XP to half. I made it pretty far yet as expected, leveling extremely slow for the pace, not to mention I was starting with FO3 VH/HC modes from NV. This mod basically takes exactly twice as long to level up.

Then there is the XTRAS (or something) pack that comes with TTWL that has it's own leveling mod. It claims to keep normal progression for the first hours then slowly increase it over time to where it ends up also being double the required XP to hit cap however I can't seem to find any info or readmes on how this mod actually works, when it starts to take effect and how much XP required for next higher levels.

Obviously with the first few hours being the same, to hit level 50 with be massivley increased than my just "exactly double required xp for next level up".

I want to finish both games. Rather I'd like to get decently thru both including most DLC without level capping, or maybe just maxing around cap when the "you're done, did all ya could do soldier!" feeling sinks in.

Any info or ideas on how TTWLs mod works? Thanks!

You're referring to the TTW optional mod, correct? The one that increases XP requirements slowly over time?

I use TTW extensively and see it as a requirement to playing Fallout NV. Personally, I use the TTW XP mod (the one from TTW optional) and Project Nevada to manage my XP. You don't want too many XP mods running at once to avoid negative conflicts.

In my last playthrough a while back, with TTW XP and Project Nevada, I was around level 7 when I finally made it to Project Purity. This was after doing a ton of side quests and with fast travel disabled.

As you was leveling, did it start to slow down? Etc? There's no in-depth look at the optional xp mod.

It did appear to slow down. You're right that there is no actual breakdown of numbers to see the exact value that determines the slower leveling, but it seemed to be working.

I mean I made it to level 7 when I finally made it to Project Purity. I did a few major side quests like the Wasteland Survival Guide before reaching Purity and I also went to GNR, Vault 112 and Rivet City. All of this was without fast travel. Meaning I walked my character to those locations (because apparently Im crazy lol). So there were quite a few engagements and opportunities to level up and I only made it to level 7 at Project Purity (aka close to the end of the game).

But I also played with Project Nevada's XP value changes....so Idk....maybe its best to use TTW XP reduction in conjunction with another XP mod. But only 1 other XP mod.

Seems they would have elaborated more on what this xp mod does as aposed to just "slowlying leveling over time."
