Ed-e not following
Googled this up and can't find anything useful so far.

Ed-e is not following. Have checked and tried changing his follow protocols-makes no difference.
Im located in the vegas strip and he doesn't move. Just floats at the zone in point. He doesn't follow and have played on 2 different computers. Tried using a console command set "04004d16".waiting to 0 This didn't work either.

Anyone know of a fix?

Are you sure he isn't just stuck on something? That happens with him sometimes. Try fast travelling to another area and see if he resumes his following again.

Thanks.

I've done fast travel and he will move to new location, but won't follow once he is there. Also, when I talk to him, he shows follow as waiting and that doesn't change.

I'm late to the party but someone somwhere might find this useful. This is for starnard vanilla non modified ED-E but might work on upgraded. Here's what worked for me, now it's important to do exactly as I write because you might "misplace" ED-E.

First off save. Quick save and hard save would be the best.
Open console with ~ and click on ED-E.
Type disable and press enter. ED-E should disappear, but will still be "clicked on" and active. DO NOT click elswhere or turn off the console.
Now type enable and press enter. ED-E should appear again.
Close the console and press E on ED-E so the companion wheel appears. Choose "Wait here" and close the wheel. Open the wheel again and choose "Follow me".
After that ED-E snapped out of coma and started to follow again. Hope it will help someone in the future.:cozyfallout4:

Tried this, Unfortunately didn't work though.
[Edit: Sorry for the necro, I'm just going to revert to a save where ED-E is still opertational]

This worked for me.
I'd already tried the console command to set waiting to 0. Hadn't worked. I'd tried telling him to wait and refollow through the dialogue tree. That hadn't worked either. But this method worked perfectly. Thanks.

I can confirm that this works on the upgraded ED-E. Also, you can still re-enable ED-E if you accidentally click off of him by using prid [id].

Ed-E's IDs:
0010C769 (default)
001694E2 (upgr. weapons)
001694E0 (upgraded armor)

I can additionally confirm that he will keep everything he is carrying after disabling him, so don't worry.
