Disabling Anti-aliasing without launching the game
My game won't launch, and It seems from a search of the forum that disabling anti aliasing might be the answer, but I can't get to the in-game menu to disable it. Is there a way to disable it from windows? I can't find the customary config.ini file.

Running on a Mobile Intel(R) 945GM Express Chipset Family
Directx9.0b

Still non-functional. The launcher doesn't look funny, the game simply refuses to start.

Have you checked your Laptop manufacturers website for any updated graphics drivers?

Yes, I've updated to the latest drivers, still nothing.

What happens when you try to launch the game? Where in the process does it fail? Do you get any error messages?

Are you sure your system meets the minimum system requirements? You need at least DirectX 9.0c with a 9.0c-capable GPU.

The graphics card is directx 9.0b, but I'd at least like to try turning off some settings before giving up entirely. My problem is that I can't access things like anti aliasing without launching the game, which then crashes.

Since the developers seem really hesitant to tell people - these settings are adjusted via the Windows Registry (there is no config file). Obviously this should only be done by advanced users who know what they're doing, but this is the location:

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Age of Empires II HD

The REG_DWORD settings appear to be a simple 1 for enabled, 0 for disabled for most of the main settings.

Hope that saves someone else a little time hunting it down.

Thanks! I'll let you know if it works!
