CD Version Not Working

I just want to know if anyone has their CD Version of this game and if it is working or not. Mine just gives me The Autorun Screen, nothing more.<--This is making me very sad

and I might consider buying this, if the Bugs I heard from the last time I was on here (looking at this Game) were or are Fixed.

use latest the conquerors + latest patch 1.0c and this userpatch:

Buying it on Steam allows you to get the next 2 official expansion packs (Both of them will cost you an additional $20, they are $10 each) and play multiplayer with an active community. Other improvements do include bug fixes and the ability for it to run on all new PC systems.

I can't speak for Windows 10 but I got my old boxed copy (in the huge cardboard box with massive manual, old school) to work on Windows 7 and it wasn't particularly difficult.

The only problem I had was, in game the colours were screwed up. To fix it I had to open the task bar and close the "explorer.exe" process, which made everything normal, then when I finished playing I had to re-start the explorer.exe process.

It works for me on windows 7. Minus the colour issue.

Windows 8 I can't get it to work (I try no fixes), and I would suspect the same is for windows 10.

The colour issue i believe is a Windows Vista/ 7 thing. I can run the original AoE II and the conks and even The original AoE + RoR and it's working perfectly for me on Windows 10, and an AMD Radeon R9 270 with Catalyst 15.7 drivers. I don't know why this is happening to you

If you are running Win10 there may be issues with copy protection of the disk no longer being supported. If this is the case, you will need to install a no-CD patch to play the game.

Ahh i remember when i had that edition, I also remember reading the manual almost everyday for about a month before we got a computer that could run the game, just dreaming about playing.
Also a better fix for the boxed edition is called "pallete suspender".

This modder figured out that it was something to do with windows aero.
What this lttle neat program did, was automatically end windows explorer.exe when the gane was run, and would automatically restart the process once you exut the game. It also works on other old games.
Of course you could just get the userpatch.

I have Windows 7...and that's strange how people say they had Color Issues 'cause mine didn't. I last played it many months ago.

Yes, that's what I plan on doing some time during My Birthday or Christmas...well, if I am Gifted a Steam Card.
