AOE I DEFINITIVE EDITION X64 ARCHITECTURE
Hello everyone. Sorry for my limited english :)

I just read that the AOE I Definitive Edition needs for minimum system requirements:

OS: Windows 10 version 14393.0 or higher require
Architecture: X64 required
Processor: 1.8 Ghz+ Dual Core or greater i3, i5, or i7, or AMD equivalent
Graphics: Intel HD 4000 or Greater (16 or more Execution Units), AMD or nVidia GPU scoring 500 or more on Passmark G3D Mark
Memory: 4GB
Storage: 8-10GB

And now i'm wondering what about the "Architecture: X64 required". Does it means that Windows 10 32 BITS does not support the game?

I have Windows 10 32 bits and i'd be really dissapointed if i the game just would be able to be played in Windows 10 X64.

Greetings to everyone!

You can switch between Windows x64 and x86 (32 bit) versions. Download the Windows 10 x64 ISO from Microsoft's website (https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/software-download/windows10) and reinstall Windows on your PC. If you have a legitimate copy of Windows 10 on your PC, it should activate by itself.

Why, in the name of all that is holy, do you even use a 32-bit OS when all commercial CPUs for over a decade now have been exclusively 64-bit? The only place where 32-bit OSs are still even used are some companies where a few legacy mandatory programs cannot run on 64-bit architecture. I didn't even know Win10 had a 32-bit version…

Why are the recommended ones so stiff, a gtx650 and i5 for some pretty graphics?

i "guess" minimum is to run the game in 30fps on very low details and with low population (no aa, maybe no 3d water like we got here in aoe2hd, maybe worse shadows) and the recommended is to get the full population games to run without lag and have the bling bling factor turned up higher ;)

GTX 650 is almost laughable for recommendations in 2017/2018. AN i5 is likely needed for the sheer computational power for 200-pop games. These 2D RTS games have always been more intense on the CPU than GPU.

maybe for you and me, but in the places in the world where aoe 1 is still very popular a 650 isnt that bad of a card to have so this might be an issue indeed

It was a 120-dollar entry-level card nearly 5 years ago. It goes for 30-40 dollars on eBay. Even in SEA it should not be an issue to have something equal to its performance.
