Is the Chinese Great Wall tech bugged?
I read somewhere that the Chinese should have the strongest walls in the game and that makes sense given that the Great Wall unique tech says it gives towers and wall +30% HP. And then there's Masonry and Architecture on top of that for another 10% each so totally 50% increased HP.

I did some testing and the Byzantines get +40% HP on all buildings including defensive ones like walls and towers. Now what doesn't make sense to me is that post-imperial Chinese walls have 3900 HP but Byz walls have 4200. How does that work out? Also it's odd that Chinese towers have around 3400 HP but Byz towers only have around 3100. So is the Great Wall tech possibly not affecting walls or something? How could towers have more HP but walls have less if they get the same % bonus (that should be greater than the Byz)?

Masonry and Architecture do not effect Palisade walls, Stone/Fortified walls or any type of gate. The Byz bonus and Great wall tech both effect walls. (Although the Byz bonus does not apply to gates for some reason.) Walls and Towers are seperate classes in the game files and have been since AOK afaik.

Okay so Byzantines infact have the strongest walls and towers in the game but Chinese may have the strongest gates
Byzantines have the best walls for health (+40%) and chinese are better than average. (+30% with great wall tech.)

Chinese have the most health on Towers (Keep line and Bombard Towers) with +50% hp. Byzantines are a close second with +40% health on towers. (Again Keep line and Bombard Towers.)

One thing to note is that Masonry and Architecture give buildings extra armor while the Byzantine health bonus does not. I don't know if the great wall tech gives towers armor but I dont think it does.

It is only a HP bonus, no building armour is added.

If you're only looking at the HP, Byz has more.

Otherwise, counting in armor you can't see that goes into buildings, chinese walls are a bit more resilient against non-siege. Siege breaks all buildings, so they do about the same.

How are Chinese walls more resilient? The Great Wall tech only adds HP and Masonry and Architecture which would add armor don't affect walls.
