even a 150 dollar video card is sufficient, higher end cards are more expensive not just because of better memory and core clock speeds, also the vram,
if you have 3gb or more, you can play on higher resolutions with better antialiasing
i mean the actual memory, did you care to read the amount of memory on your gpu?
mine has 3gb and its 384-bit, good for 3k resolution, maybe 4k
you should learn a bit more about gpus especially because pc gamers tend to pay extra dollars for hardware,
personally i think nvidia has held the title for too long and tends to price things a bit more than what they are worth
nonetheless its a great card
thats the just of it with higher end gpus, lower end ones still serve well and should for 1680 to even 1920(1080p)
on max settings for most games
and dont forget you do more with a pc, consoles are for people who have no idea how to save money with a pc
e.g steam, great prices for games if your down with buying digital copies
works wonders.
+ most console players are 800+ dollars deep in their pockets with all the games they buy
might as well build a medium range pc that can hold out for about 4-5 years, say 600 dollars?
maybe
thats the lowest end of the spectrum right now to run most games at medium settings
