Looks like i'm going to have to go that route due to all the problems these server managers cause...
I know it could be my settings but there are so few in-depth videos on OMegaManager, it's all fast-food drive through support.
I have never used any of the servers manages. I think its pretty simple to just run it old school style.
Okay, i have an issue. I went back to .BAT file again but it won't load mods like "@Airdrop-Upgraded,@Alien Invasion,@Ambient Animals Pack" for some reason. It's like the batch file mis-interprets them and it's beyond impossible that i spelled them wrong because i did a cut and paste. How do you make the batch file acknowledge them without thinking they're not in your mods list when you join the server and you know, for a fact, you've already got them because i pick my mods directly from my workshop?
If you run it this way, the authentication runs in the background, with zero interuptions, auto-updates mods, and has all the bells and whistles if you subscribe to the basic (not the free) account with CFCloud.
As RoY mentioned, doing it the manual way works well too. Just depends on how many features of CFCloud you want, or not (i.e. mod auto-updates).
My problem with OmegaManager is this: I use my main account, but i log out of Steam so i "can" use that account JUST to get things running on the server. The problem is, OM is "constantly" logging in for ANY possible reason and locking me out (excess login error) so i can't download my mods. So, at that point, i'm out of things for more than half an hour.
Are you telling me that getting another account will fix all this or is it some setting in the omegamanager's cfg?
Putting in that 2-factor code is ANNYONING because it never caches my login info. Ever.
I'm asking directly because that's another $24 investment JUST to run another account because (unless you buy it) it won't access the workshop correctly for mods. I've got a team account, specifically for running my own servers, but it doesn't have a paid copy of DayZ and i'm not going to invest the money unless i know it's going to fix the OmegaManager issues.
I have been all over, asking about this, and NO ONE seems to know or want to answer me. CF Tools, in the nicest way, told me to go @#$% myself because i wasn't paying them they weren't going to answer me.
It's been an exhausting experience.
In a nutshell, you can't really use OM on a Steam account that you are also actively using for gaming. There is an authentication conflict.
Also, sounds like you have 2 factor authentication on your Steam account, so yeah, that just complicates matters as far as using OM. I run 2 factor authentication on the Steam account that is hosting the DayZ server, but it only prompts ONCE when I fire up the server for the 1st time. As long as the server is running, it doesn't prompt for 2 factor auth again, unless I shut the server down for a period, OR I open the Steam app and login. Has not affected scheduled server auto-restarts.
Note: I do NOT run Steam logged in with the account I use for hosting. I think that is your whole issue. If you are running the Steam app AND using that account credentials to run the server, well, there's the conflict right there. You can't run Steam on 2 systems with the same account, NOR use Family Share, and play the same title simultaneously on 2 accounts.
Hope that helps.
Edit: I paid for a 2nd copy of DayZ on my hosting/ALT account to get this all working properly.
All of the things that the "free" version of CF Cloud does you can easily setup using the manual hosting method. You don't get multiple servers, don't get more then 1 announcement, don't get many of the security and client options, and a whole bunch of other things that make CF and Omegamanager worth it.
If you are trying to cut costs, and are not lazy like me, going the manual method like RoY does is your best bet. It just means that you have to manually update mods/server files. If you are not running a super popular/populated server, your players can wait, or just post in your Discord when a mod/client/server needs an update.
If you have a populated/busy server, or if that is your aim, well, the automation feature is kinda worth it in my opinion (if you are self-hosting). Last I checked the CF Cloud service was under $8 US a month. Compared to a full-server hosting service, it's kinda a deal, as long as your ISP doesn't have restrictions on hosting a game server (important point, as you can get a C&D notice on some residential ISP services).
