And same here... my brother and i got into the dayz mod because of him, Sada and their adventures.
Fair play to him for trying again, given whatever woes he apparently had.
I watched his latest videos and barring the Arma3 ones, he was on basically his own server, that appears to have been modded quite well - was quite atmospheric.
However . .
Gosh but it was massively scripted. That very first encounter in the lighthouse, no way do you take a leisurely stroll after just getting shot at in Namalsk. You would be dead, very very fast. That heavily influenced the rest of what I saw.
It appears to have put together and helped with, by a load of his mates. Not necessarily a bad thing, as after all he's going for the money through the clicks and views but for me . . nah.
I enjoyed him back in the day. It was a new novel way to approach a new novel game, but there are loads of people doing it and it just seemed a bit twee. Much better would be to drop Frankie into a high pop 1PP vanilla server and see how long he can do it without the aid of his chums. I'm guessing not very long but it's something I would actually watch.
Gimme TRMZ any day. A real genuine bloke. Real streaming adventures, has a genuine viewer-base watching his streams, which he actively interacts with and deserves so much more praise than many many others . . The very fact that Rocket pops into his stream, reasonably regularly, if not only to catch his 'waiting screen' speaks volumes. If you know, you know.
Each to their own - I'm sure given his previous appeal, he will be liked again but it's a different generation and genre of gamer playing dayZ now. What's he bringing that's new to the game? His name? May need more than that, given what I've seen so far.
I hope he does well but personally, I don't think I'll be actively hunting out his channel.
I have no issue with the fact that he scripted it, but unfortunately, just like a movie script, how it is done will affect how you feel about it.

not some twee starter explanation about what dayZ is. People already know and the people who will watch his videos definitely do so. Seriously though . . that lighthouse scene. It's in the first 5 minutes. Watch it and then think why on earth it was put together like that. That's not Namalsk. That's what killed my enthusiasm. It was just so . . fake. It didn't make sense.
. . and don't start me on the wolves scene. A sledgehammer against 6 wolves, with simply a t-shirt in the bitter cold?! Lives with grey screen (kudos) and then <boom> full colour, full health and not even a shiver, like running around on Chernarus in summer. What?! Nah.

Just my tuppence. I've seen other stories, I heard other tales. His needs to be special to get my attention now and so far - I didn't get it. Who knows, hopefully he'll get batter but until then . . time for him to start running!

His story telling is what's made him so famous. He's still easily the most famous DayZ creator; I highly doubt he's going to change what works so well, because some random guy on the Steam forum doesn't like it.
He went off as he started whilst at Uni studying Law so he spent a few years getting his law career on course
Frankie makes a huge effort editing and creating a narrative to entertain and his videos are a full story that are FREE to view on YT unlike that idiot Twitch guy who spends 8 hours a day cyber-begging for subs whilst boasting about his expensive watch and whisky collection to his Simps.
The only streamer on Twitch who comes close to Frankie for quality is Soursweet. Whilst for narrative movie style Dayz on YT there is also JLK and Project Redtie and of course the cool pranksters that are Fresh Spawns.
But Frankie is the original and best. And you have to wonder if there had been no Frankie would we ever have been given a Standalone DayZ

I agree - I never said I didn't. Back in the day, he did a lot of work in promoting dayZ.
His latest effort however I found lacklustre and quite honestly boring. The game and the audience have moved on. It appears he is still trying to capture the audience he had. Maybe he will, maybe he won't.

I don't know, neither do you. My point is that he will need to substantially up his game if he wishes to. It's a decade later and he is producing content that feels dated. I found it boring. Simply my opinion. You are entitled to yours.

That's a little incorrect. I would encourage you to understand how English Law works. He quit because a small nervous breakdown . . not to advance his legal career. Spending time in Africa is not conducive to advancing an English legal career.
. . as for your last question - of course we would. You think a major games producer bases their development or marketing strategy on a single YT'er. Don't be silly.
re: your opinion regarding TRMZ - I disagree. Others apparently do too. It's why he has such a good income from Twitch. You would know this if you did your homework and saw the leaked data but going from the rest of your post . . you don't do homework.
