Question for solo people

Do you guys create a base or prefer the old and good stash locations? Base seems so hard to sustain when you don't have people on the squad playing

I've never tried to create a base as looking for and finding resources takes too much of my time; I prefer to find and hide barrels or make crates, occasionally a medium tent.

Medium tent you say as hide them in the woods? like the barrels because only the crates can you bury right

I don't build a base. Just looting as I go cause one thing is for sure.. Yer gonna die if ya are even close to the north border. And that's fine :D

Base building isn't very easy like it is in a game like Rust/ARK, so one person having to find an absurd amount of items just to get started isn't going to happen

- 1 rope per wall
- Shovel
- Hammer
- Multiple hatchets & saws or several sharpening stones
- Boxes of nails

Once you have all of this, then you can start getting to work chopping down trees to make fence posts & planks to board it up with

im still learning the game i dont really have interest in bases right now i just spend most of my time traveling and exploring the map and only taking what i need

You can always stash items between, really hard to find everything in one run i agree, i made one base between two runs making a stash to hide nails, hammer etc that i find

i find this one of the best way to play the game, you just dive into the world itself

i run out my pack. i grab and carry only what i actually need. imo seems a lot of player tend to grab more than they need just because they "think" they need it or just want it. everyone has their own style of playing. play the game and find out yours.

I have over 2k hours and now i don't bother with bases or
stashes. I pretty much know the maps i like to play and know
where to go to get what i need when i need it.

ive played a lot of solo dayz between official servers and modded, and so it very much depends. back when i played on xboxone i only did solo on chernarus servers, and would often just nomad. id only carry what i could and find what i need as i go, but with some of these modded servers as a solo i will often build a little base, keep a few kits in there and usually build it somewhere closer to the coast so it is less appealing for a big team to come raid me. even if they do, i log out with valuables in those instances so unless im online and in the base its a very unprofitable raid for them.

I feel like bases are a cherna thing so as a namalsk player i dont

Myself, i go mobile. If they're persistent enough, they will get your stuff. At least, mobile, you have a chance to keep mobile. I've been looking around for that RV mod so i can have a mobile base that's serious.

RV = recreational vehicle. i guess they could work as mobile bases.
