Yeah more then friends helping pre-scripted... The server admins do give a ton of support for these vids. I never took those vids on face value.
To be fair, most of those vids would be boring or the producer would have to play 20 hours for every one hour of screen time.
Let us not forget that these people are not doing it because they want to help you. Sure some may start that way but in the end its about subscribers (=Money and sponsors)
LASTLY, and NO OFFENCE. you got 2000 hours in the game. I have to believe you had some good times in there and got the value for your money.

He seems to go to great lengths to avoid the appearance of scripting and he has entertainment value not necessarily related to DayZ. The long youtubes he puts up with no breaks in the videos are a decent indicator he's trying to be straightforward - or he may be a genius and is fooling us all :-) In which case he's doing a brilliant job.
Most of the content creators now just play heavily modded servers, or do setup vids with clickbait premise similar to that of a bad porno. " You WONT BELIEVE what I found at NWAF!!!" yada yada.
That or they just make "tips and tricks to survive" or videos covering the new updates.
I've recently devoted my gaming to Subnautica after slowly running out of Steam insofar as DayZ is concerned (lol, see what I did there?). That's a singleplayer, non-shooter survival game with an endgame goal - it shares resource grinding, building and exploration with DayZ but that's about all.
Some friends have gone to Valheim, SCUM, etc. looking for a game that sparks their engine. It's normal. And just like a tv series once it can't stimulate your imagination the creators either go or are told to go elsewhere.
I guess I'm just saying a cynical response somewhat splattered across the content creator genre is likely dirtying both the deserving and the undeserving.

Because each time i personally try to play with voice, people talk back and we usually end up with the craziest adventures ever, just like the stuff that happens on "Smoke" streams. Some of those people are still on my friend list, even tho i dont play that much anymore.
