DayZ

Dayz streams on Twitch are setup/fake. Don't expect it to happen to you that way.
I made the final decision to buy Dayz based off of streams found on twitch. I used to watch all the big names. Laxhawthorn007, Smoke, FrickinRed, etc. They always had fun and got into some crazy stuff. I got Dayz and spent over 2000 hrs and never have I had anything remotely similar happen to me. They always do, day in and day out. How is this? They lie to the viewers. They setup meetings with friends and they each know what they are going to do, all the while telling the viewers that its all random. One streamer accidentally left the channel open and was telling his friend to kill him so he could end the stream, while in the stream he was telling his viewers that.. "for some reason he feels like he is gonna get sniped'... This is fraud. Should tell the viewers that he's getting tired.. gonna just let a mate kill me.. instead they lie to keep the stream interesting... until some people find out its all a fraud. This applies to any game like Dayz, Scum, etc. For all the honest streamers, keep it honest.

And lets not forget the dayz modded servers that drop loot for certain streamers to keep them alive and well equipped.. just to get some advertising for their servers....

Think the term is called "Streamer Loot"...

Yeah more then friends helping pre-scripted... The server admins do give a ton of support for these vids. I never took those vids on face value.

To be fair, most of those vids would be boring or the producer would have to play 20 hours for every one hour of screen time.

Let us not forget that these people are not doing it because they want to help you. Sure some may start that way but in the end its about subscribers (=Money and sponsors)

LASTLY, and NO OFFENCE. you got 2000 hours in the game. I have to believe you had some good times in there and got the value for your money.
Watching twitch gamers that do it for a living? That's called 'reality' tv. If the streamer doesn't have inherent entertainment skills that would work if they were juggling tennis balls on a street corner then I'd take a pass.

Been happening since the start frankie and jack were two popular ytbers back in the first game and they were possibly heavily scripted. Their content was good though and brought thousands to the game.

the only Streamer I believe has truthfully skill to play dayz without admin aids is TheRunningManZ.

He seems to go to great lengths to avoid the appearance of scripting and he has entertainment value not necessarily related to DayZ. The long youtubes he puts up with no breaks in the videos are a decent indicator he's trying to be straightforward - or he may be a genius and is fooling us all :-) In which case he's doing a brilliant job.

A lot of the best DayZ content creators quit playing when beta hit or way before that when Escape From Tarkov came out... DeadlySlob being one. Ran in to him a couple times throughout the years.

Most of the content creators now just play heavily modded servers, or do setup vids with clickbait premise similar to that of a bad porno. " You WONT BELIEVE what I found at NWAF!!!" yada yada.

That or they just make "tips and tricks to survive" or videos covering the new updates.

No ♥♥♥♥. The first time i saw f.e. Frankie's videos i immediately knew they were staged.

Frankies videos were more cinematic they could get away with being setup, he didn't present them as if they weren't as far as I know. He was creating something entertaining to watch.
I'd like to throw in the possibility that many DayZ content creators may have, like many regular players, have gone through a bit of burn out. There are many people I've played with that have taken 'vacations' from DayZ (and other games) just because they weren't getting their gaming fix satisfied. For content creators, sincere or just in it for the money, this can be especially problematic when they can't produce stimulating content.

I've recently devoted my gaming to Subnautica after slowly running out of Steam insofar as DayZ is concerned (lol, see what I did there?). That's a singleplayer, non-shooter survival game with an endgame goal - it shares resource grinding, building and exploration with DayZ but that's about all.

Some friends have gone to Valheim, SCUM, etc. looking for a game that sparks their engine. It's normal. And just like a tv series once it can't stimulate your imagination the creators either go or are told to go elsewhere.

I guess I'm just saying a cynical response somewhat splattered across the content creator genre is likely dirtying both the deserving and the undeserving.

wait, is this why none of the streamers play on Spaggie servers? because Spaggie wont fix them up and doesnt run admin mods?

far from "none". various streamers play on it. just doesnt get advertised as heavy as dayone for example and spaggies servers are all vanilla, which attracts less streamers/viewers in general i guess.

im going to completely disagree with you. its more of a problem of you being an anti-social sociopath that plays alone and doesnt really engage in conversations with random people. Yes i said it.
Because each time i personally try to play with voice, people talk back and we usually end up with the craziest adventures ever, just like the stuff that happens on "Smoke" streams. Some of those people are still on my friend list, even tho i dont play that much anymore.
