First time playing..wtf im suppose to do exactly?

I joined a server and there was no NO guns,food or anything to be found. All houses has been looted, Complete empty. All i did for 20 minutes was to roam around and running up on a HUGE hill in the forest and eventually i just quit the game of boredom. Didn't encounter a single online player either. Such a fun game zzzzzz

I regularly stream this on youtube.com/kenuty if you need some hint on survival, i can last a good 8 hours until i get shot somewhere

You pretty much loot the whole time, fight zombies and manage your needs/health/supplies and equipment degradation. Finding people and getting good loot can take hours and skill/game knowledge. You pretty much have to watch a bunch of tutorials on youtube (I recommend WOBO) unless you want to die again and again and not know why.

Its hard to figure things out when you first begin. Its a big world and it can seem pretty empty but there is plenty of food and loot out there. You just need to learn where to go and how to stay alive. I would avoid other players like the plague, or approach with extreme caution. They will kill you and often before you see them. Even if you do get to talk you will be seen as a threat.

I would learn to start a fire, find clean water, forage for fruit and mushrooms, hunt food by sound (chickens are in every town), get away from the coast asap (especially the big cities), learn to fish, get warmer clothing. If you cant do that then a gun wont be much good.

This is not the kind of game where you can just jump straight into a gun fight. You have to learn to survive first and that will not be easy. Expect to die a lot and don't get attached to your loot. No matter what you do one day you will loose it.

DayZ with community workshop covers all these activities. all you have to do, is to find out what you want from a sandbox game like dayz and search for a server that satisfies your preferences

I would suggest playing on Namalsk (easier version) if you already have enough basic information and if you like to be challenged. Most of the time, you can survive the entry if you make the right decision at the right time. I tried this on my cute little vanilla Namalsk [PvE] server Kleine Strolche & SusiSommer although its very cold and not too much loot there (later I will add more mods, then it will be easier).
In the very beginning I think its a good idea to play on a Chernarus PvE-server.
When you die, don't take it so tragically but try again and again. Just think dying is a part of the game and it should be a motivation to keep finding out new possibilities and features and thus survive a bit longer. Bit by bit, you become a survivalist.
Of course, you also have to inform yourself about possibilities, the various objects, clothes, diseases in DayZ. Maybe WiKi will help a little.
I've always enjoyed discovering something new in the game.
