Plenty of food to be found.. In orchards, forests, animals. It's a big map.. Players can be anywhere!
dayz has a steep learning curve. maybe watch some guides on yt.
This is what happens when you watch YouTube videos and expect a totally different game.
I learned after 10+ hours return my 101 steps is
#1 get better clothings for insulation, more insulation = less water and food usage, or else you will starve to death and die
#2 don't run, you waste more water, you will die
#3 don't run around in rain, you can get sick and die
#4 don't drink from random water streams, you can get sick and die
#5 don't eat human meat, you'll start giggling and someone will find you and shoot you and die, sometimes just eating human eat will warrant someone to kill you for cannibalism, you will die
#6. Don't let yourself bleed to long without bandage, you will bleed to death and die
#7. Don't run in open fields, some people sit there and wait to snipe you, you will die
#8. use tab to find items you can sometimes miss, don't spend too much time in cities, someone will shoot you in the head and you will die.
#9 Don't trust friendly people and turn your back on them, they will whip a (insert weapon here) on your neck/head and slice/bash you and you die.
#10. If you don't have a gun, DO NOT RUN TOWARDS THE SOUND OF GUNSHOT
you will most likely die,
I regularly stream this on youtube.com/kenuty if you need some hint on survival, i can last a good 8 hours until i get shot somewhere
i believe there's some really good guides around; wobo comes to mind. deep science^^ https://www.youtube.com/c/WOBOchannel/videos
I would learn to start a fire, find clean water, forage for fruit and mushrooms, hunt food by sound (chickens are in every town), get away from the coast asap (especially the big cities), learn to fish, get warmer clothing. If you cant do that then a gun wont be much good.
This is not the kind of game where you can just jump straight into a gun fight. You have to learn to survive first and that will not be easy. Expect to die a lot and don't get attached to your loot. No matter what you do one day you will loose it.
no insults.
thread partly cleaned.
(fighting against other players)
2. PvE
3. Personal loot
( items you would seek for in places and utilize them to survive or enhance the quality of maintenance)
4. Air mobility
5. Land mobility
6. Building
( constructing base and fortification to store stashes of loots which is necessary to survive longer and defending them either single-handed or with group of friend in a shared place)
7. Crafting
8. Trade site
9. Treasure events
(Airdrops, missions or any other special events that challenge you against other players and AI in an intensive firefight to attain objective)
DayZ with community workshop covers all these activities. all you have to do, is to find out what you want from a sandbox game like dayz and search for a server that satisfies your preferences
some nub is like how do i play and you useless "experts" just say go watch youtube tutorials, follow a guide blah blah blah
youre right here. take an extra minute explaining the thing you like instead of mindlessly shilling streamers who then have all you clones playing the exact same way
wow so much fun
In the very beginning I think its a good idea to play on a Chernarus PvE-server.
When you die, don't take it so tragically but try again and again. Just think dying is a part of the game and it should be a motivation to keep finding out new possibilities and features and thus survive a bit longer. Bit by bit, you become a survivalist.
Of course, you also have to inform yourself about possibilities, the various objects, clothes, diseases in DayZ. Maybe WiKi will help a little.
I've always enjoyed discovering something new in the game.
