Stay away from most of the military loot places if you wish to avoid encounters. Note also that the middle of the map so Novy Sobor and Stary are also hotspots for travelling players and campers!
And also note that the coastal areas have worse loot than the inland locations. Also the woods also have food in the form of mushrooms (all are currently edible) and also there is wild game.
KoS will almost always happen unless you are dealing with a fresh spawn that has no gun!
Trust no one. It always works best if you see them first and catch them off guard. With a gun in your hand.
Which map is a preference only you can decide. Learn to survive and any map can be good.
That said, we became actual friends, even outside of this game. That was...5 or 6 years ago. We've lost touch since. But he taught me that not everyone on the internet is an a-hole.
99% of your encounters, regardless of official or unofficial servers will be a KoS engagement. Every now and again though, you will find that 1% that makes it all worth it.
I actually just switched to a PVE server on the Esseker map (which has a billion mods, didnt know it had that many when i clicked join) and so far its been great.
Met few people there, said hi, that was mostly it with interactions but ive been having fun just learning the map and game, shooting up zombies and dieying to the op AI npcs who are patroling the military bases and airfields :)
Esseker is great, looks awesome, very well made map but its just too small for me, especially on pvp servers. Ill probably just avoid it for now when it comes to pvp. I will give Chernarus another go tho
Hoping to get some good challenging play and perhaps a friendly face once in a while.
