how do you claim a territory so you can build

hi i had a flag pole but still needed to claim a territory so i could build, thanks for the help

Modded or official? Official you dont even need the flag, that really only
helps with decay and zee spawning.
On some modded however you may need a "land claim kit".
You can either forage one or buy one if the server has a trader.

You may be able to craft one, depending on the mods your server has loaded.

Optional depending on server: Land Claim Kit. Place, Enable Building

Then raise the flag. Walk up to it, F to claim

how do you enable building ? thanks for your help

To enable it, I think you mean land claim kit. If so, go to where u put up the pole and look at it, it should say enable. It will reset every time server resets.

The flag pole is used to extent deregulation time. Server side determines that. The land claim kit is for base protection. Always make sure that only you have access to that. Put inside base.

So if your server *requires* both a land claim and a flag, what i would do is place a land claim kit (potentially have 2) build your base, place flag in a safe location, tear down the land claim with a sledge, and then place the land claim at the hardest point of your base to reach, i.e the back corner, so it is the last thing that a raider can reach.

its basically a safeguard. But most servers running Basic Territories no longer require a land claim, unless the server owner doesnt know how to modify the bbp_config,json, so yea.

If the modded server has claim territory mechanic, you might need to check their discord or website.
But if it just building, unless modded too, then the same as official.
