Chinese Keyboard Maker Caught Tracking Typed Keys on Customer’s Computers
Specifically developed to provide more customization options for RGB illumination and macros, the keyboard companion software can also track typed keys on the keyboard and send information to a server that’s being hosted on Alibaba Cloud.
A component described as “cloud driver” appears to be responsible for recording the keypresses and sending them to IP 47.90.52.88, with the data then stored in two different locations, namely /cms/json/putkeyusedata.php and /cms/json/putuserevent.php.

Wasn't he apart of dayz epoch? the mod that had the most retention in all of dayz modding history, maybe not fully on the dev team but i know he was en grained within that community and maybe contributed work towards epoch iirc, not to mention OpenDayz which was the biggest community for mods in the day.
He coded many popular editors for the game, if anyone knows the offline mode editor we have now for dayz sa, Well its pretty similar to one that maca codded for arma 2 dayz and then arma 3 not certain on a3 but i think he did make one maybe for a3 also i know he made a3 launcher is well so i might be getting the two confused.
Then there is the infamous SNAP BUILD script that many servers used because one server stole it from maca's server and leaked it the script was pretty advanced and nothing of that nature had been released yet.
Then there is all the other tools and scripts he made for the various games. Although trader safezone script had been done he made a better version that many would of used in some form or another because it got replicated/re-visioned a few times. you could tell if it was his script or not there was a few of his that you could tell in game by playing.
I am sure dayz launcher is on the border of what is fine and safe. And hopefully just false positive at best. I don't use it because i prefer the filtering in the vanilla launcher. And it does get disheartening seeing malware screening pop up when i used to use his launcher.
Who knows though i don't really know the depths of it but bottom line is what i am trying to say is the guy has been around since the start of dayz and i have never heard any bad about him, he would of been outed long ago if there was a problem considering dayz mod is 10 years old.
Again hope that its just false positive if you decide to use it or play it safe and don't use it at all.
My prevention system barley alerts me now days because of the structure of the system but when it does i usually listen to it.
And proceed with caution if at all. Usually not at all not worth the risk.
anyway, I use DayZSA launcher only for modded servers, had no issues so far.
also my AV suite didn't act up yet but I'm only using Avast free and I dunno how that relates to Norton or McAfee or whatchamacallit.
Who bumped this?
Depends on what you use some more than others. Any reputable malware prevention tool will do its job effectively if its any good.
If you think AV solution is snake oil at best then you would also think its fine to risk downloading some ransomware unknowingly; keyword. Because you use windows defender and its got you covered.
An analogy that fits here best is that "vpn is the lesser of two evils" Lets look at this further, yes a vpn is realistically the lesser of two evils because you are just filtering your traffic through a vpn's servers instead of your isp so apples to oranges. But at the same time a vpn is totally warranted in many situations.
In fact foremost and just an example anybody who torrents and does not use a vpn to torrent is at a huge security risk and asking to invite hackers onto their network. Just as much so as anybody who connects to any game server using their outwards ip address is in the same boat. Sure its situational if you need one and most of the time you don't but like propper av solutions they have their uses.
A total AV solution is more than just an AV suite its a whole multi level system, and comes down to what browser/browsing habits you use down to how you sandbox your environment. And leaving an Av suite out of this equation is detrimental and asking for malware in 2021.
Well no actually really the issue is here that "false positives" is a term that often gets thrown around very LOOSELY. Almost like any software in question has automatic passage and that people should just straight up disregard any warnings that their av suite is telling them. Because the community around said software says its ok.
When a lot of the times this information comes from people that don't actually know anything. And is nothing more than Chinese whispers at this point.
avast, norton and mcafee are trash btw.
Especially norton and mcafee. omfg mcafee is a death sentence. If any of them were snake oil then mcafee would be at the top of the list. Norton right next to it.
When you delete mods and you try to join a server who has deleted mod's it will fail.
Pros: you will probably find more servers than you find with vanilla.
Cons: Managing mods does not work properly
Tip: Find the server you want in DayZSA then load the mods and connect manually in the official launcher.
Dont use DayzSA to join servers just to find them.
it's a scare tactic to keeping making gullible people into thinking they need this software post 2010
