Just the delete the joypad

Yeah, if you've got a joypad in, you may want to unplug it, or see if anything is pushing on the stick.

Found out whats going on , its not the Joy pad its the Windows mouse diver. To fixs it use the driver that came with your Hard ware DO NOT USE WINDOW MOUSE DRIVER.
Their is a conflict with Windows mouse driver and the inbuilt game Driver for the Mouse with in the Game engine that EA used to make both 1 and 2 Dead Space.
The Joy pad has nothing to do with this bug.

unpluging the gamepad and restarting my pc worked for me but im gunna give the driver thing a shot to and see if that helps, so i can use my gamepad in-game. thanks cfive for the gamepad idea

It looks like the game is not compatible with any joysticks, even a game keyboard with a joystick on it.

i agree, i tryed useing my mouse specific driver and pluged my gamepad back in and i start spining again so i guess dead space hates joysticks (on gamepads or keyboards)

Yes Its the Controllers. Can confirm it happens with joystick, Force feedback wheels and even my gear shift controller. Just unplug them for quickest fix.

Unplug any game controller device aside from your mouse/keyboard you may be using, then see if it works!

create a blank file in your my documents\electronic arts\dead space\ folder named joypad.txt. You may have an electronTic arts folder also, if you do, put it in the dead space folder there also. After disconnecting every USB device and disabling drivers and other things nothing worked. This fixed it.

Thanks for this. This fixed my constantly spinning view for me. I have a racing wheel and maybe that was originally causing this, but your fix worked.

None of the unplug/re-plugging worked for me. What did work was creating a blank joypad.txt and placing it in ../documents/electronic arts/dead space/

Works fine now.

To. note. You dont need to sit through the cutscene to see if it works. If the menus are in the middle of the screen and not bottom your are good to go. Also. during the cutscene you can look around a little to the right. If it doesnt flip back when you let go then you are good to go. If it flips back to left then quit.

Hey I know this is way late, but the fix I found is to unplug extra usb devices such as my gamepad and start your computer with the controller plugged in. The extra input devices screw up the game's controls. Hope this helps anyone who still has the problem
