If so... thanks, but about time since this was literally the 1st line of the SD FAQ and it was broken!
I'm subscribed to the Beta channel, I get notified that there's a new version of the client available, but the changelog is stuck at an old version. It said March 12th today, even though it's up to date and everything.
Whenever I change channel from Stable to Beta or the other way around, it seems to reset the changelog to the current available version and stick there.
Am I somehow the only one with that glitch?
so:
+1
but it will stop most of the idiots that commercially rented out libraries and the ones that used such services. so your "rebels" does just equal to people that abused the feature.
I was in the stable branch and changed to the beta branch for the steam family setting, and that locked my steam deck. It was only after going to desktop mode to change the branch was I amble to start and play on my steam deck again.
Literally been searching for resolutions for this also - same problem for me. Started happening after applying the beta and setting up a family share.
Seems to have happenin Preview as well. Going back to stable resolves the issue for now anyway, just can't use the snazzy family share. Assuming you're getting the following:
error reference: shared steamui_0_8728f0abef5e82de
cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'innercounter')
Found out the issue, so my decky loader was basically causing issues. I had to basically uninstall this in the desktop mode, After switching back to beta - all working nicely.
