https://steamcommunity.com/app/1675200/discussions/1/3267932441832579614/ So, we can finally use Family Sharing on Steam Deck without fear of wiping saves &/or attaining previous player's achievements etc?!

If so... thanks, but about time since this was literally the 1st line of the SD FAQ and it was broken!

I've been getting this weird issue for the past month or so:
I'm subscribed to the Beta channel, I get notified that there's a new version of the client available, but the changelog is stuck at an old version. It said March 12th today, even though it's up to date and everything.
Whenever I change channel from Stable to Beta or the other way around, it seems to reset the changelog to the current available version and stick there.
Am I somehow the only one with that glitch?

No, you're not the only one. happens to me as well. since about some update in February. it always jumps back to the details from the update before...exactly as u describe it...
so:
+1

So how am I supposed to share my games with friends AND family now? This is the removal of a beloved Steam feature in disguise. I hope people rebel against it once it becomes a required "feature":Emil:
Did you even tried? Its way better than the old system.. even the invite system rocks

nothing was removed. sharing and parenting is much easier and massively more convenient now, consider actually reading the post.

but it will stop most of the idiots that commercially rented out libraries and the ones that used such services. so your "rebels" does just equal to people that abused the feature.

Hello guys, did any of you run into the error “cannot read property ‘type’ of undefined” when you all updated the beta?
I was in the stable branch and changed to the beta branch for the steam family setting, and that locked my steam deck. It was only after going to desktop mode to change the branch was I amble to start and play on my steam deck again.

Literally been searching for resolutions for this also - same problem for me. Started happening after applying the beta and setting up a family share.

Seems to have happenin Preview as well. Going back to stable resolves the issue for now anyway, just can't use the snazzy family share. Assuming you're getting the following:

error reference: shared steamui_0_8728f0abef5e82de

cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'innercounter')

Found out the issue, so my decky loader was basically causing issues. I had to basically uninstall this in the desktop mode, After switching back to beta - all working nicely.

List your games. Are you going to dock it to a TV?

This can be solved by switching your Decky Loader to the prerelease version, but some plug-ins may not be available, such as animation changer.
