Best weapon way to kill really big guys?
I can pass all stages and setup good trap zones but one area I'm just not good at is taking down big guys. Some Armored Orcs or Mountain Trolls or Elemental Overlords just seem to walk right past all my traps which causes a whole bunch of little guys to walk right after them and not take damage. Or also some bosses in War Maps give me trouble as they also run through all my traps. I typically use the Shotgun or the Stone Staff but it doesn't really give a good kick of damage and I'm shooting at them and following them all over the map. What ways are you guys killing these really big guys?

Thanks

i'm a newbie to this game so idk if this is the best way.. but i like using the magic longbow and just holding down right click for a few seconds n then shooting them. the magic longbow secondary ability works good on bigger orcs

or you could combo, like freeze them with the stone staff and then use the longbow's secondary attack on them while theyre frozen. comboing with 2 different weapons works good sometimes

i dont usually hold i spam it, but you're right the right click really hurts on ogres especially when dealing headshots.

Shotgun + Stone staff, is good but personally i dont like it very much because of the reload thing and its really hard to get a good headshot with the weapon and you need to be close to deal maximum damage.

Magic Longbow, Arcane staff, or Lightning staff is pretty decent for headshots against armored enemies.

As for traps, try bringing in traps that hurt them. Armored Ogres are weak against Lightning. Earth weak against Ice and Arcane and mountain trolls fire, lightning and headshots.

These enemies have resistant towards your Shotgun+stone staff since they deal physical damage. Part of the reason why you cant kill them fast, the only way to do it, are traps

I like the combination of scepter of domination + ice amulet.
Charm the big guys from afar and get both some damage on them and the surrounding orcs, if that doesnt kill them freeze them with the amulet and pile on headshots with the scepter.
The scepter is also really usefull to stagger a wave if your killbox traps need some time to reset.

My preference is Ice Amulet plus headshots with [any weapon that does physical damage].

Frozen enemies take +30% physical damage so headshots to a frozen enemy with something fast & accurate like an upgraded Crossbow or Longbow will drop them pretty quickly.

If you are dealing physical damage, affecting them with acid will make them take 50% more.

I rather like using the lightning staff specifically for armored ogres. Those guys are the worst.

In my experience, headshots are the key to taking down big guys. The boomstick can go from doing 2-3% of an ogre's health per shot on the body to suddenly chopping a quarter of their health off in a single headshot. I have found though that due to the third person perspective, you actually need to aim towards the high end of the head to get headshots with the boomstick.

Lasers do lighting damage, although lasers just got nerfed a bit.
Freeze cannons, flowers, butterfly windows, shock traps are all pretty good.
Acid+physical is good for the non-armored big guys.

Shotgun is the best. -But skill for more damage and range.
-U need to shot in the Kill Box...

-Dont take weapons which are good for solo kills better for group damage

Stonestaff stoning and going for headshots with the crossbow (105dmg, highest in the game)

Freeze them with stone staff and then spam hip fired crossbow head shots into them.

i like ceiling lasers to make them take more damage and window of butterflies above my grinders to confuse them. also either a jar of souls to fear everything that comes close to it for awhile or the stone staff to stone everything in the area for a little while. As for main weapon i prefer the arcane staff and it does good damage per shot and it's secondary aoe attack helps to get higher combos. make sure to shoot them in the head to kill them faster.

Use tar traps with the slow after leaving the trap upgrade. Confusion flowers so they have to keep walking back and forth through your traps. Lightning and freeze wall and ceeling traps and melting acid

How do you zoom in with the crossbow?

Middle mouse button, (or whatever you remap the keybinding to in settings).
