Tips for lvl 18 Order Temple?
Aight so I reached the final level of the first campaign and I've hit a bit of a snag. manage to keep all gates nearly intact for the whole thing but then comes the part where portals are opened inside the keep. the first few I could handle with a few leaks but then you get to the part where 4 extra portals open and at that point I didnt have the firepower with my trinkets and weapon to protect all 4 gates and the flood just came in and I lost 30 life at once. Im not sure what to do to deal with those waves. Im looking at the inner sanctum but there doesnt seem to be any configuration I can think of that would allow to both redirect the enemies summoned inside to a choke point so I can use traps to deal with them. there are some grinders on the floor but I havent figured out how I can benefit from them as the flip trap send orcs way too far, and there doesnt seem to be any wall close enough to use a push trap to push people in there.

Are there traps you can recommend to deal with this?

Don't even defend from the outside, use barricades to block all the stairs leading to the rift except for one, and then setup a killbox somewhere on the path, preferably in the spot with a lots of ceilling space. I myself used tar traps combined with lasers and arcane dragons. Once you reach the wave where enemy start to come from the back, use barricades once again to redirect them on the path with your killbox. With all the stairways blocked by the barricades, any additional rift enemies spawning in will have to take the path you've created as well, as no additional rift can open underneath the stairs. This approach makes the first two waves the hardest, as you will have to invest a lot into the barriers, so you will have to kill some passing enemies by yourself, but after like 3rd wave, there shouldn't be a situation where you will be in danger of losing, if you just keep expanding on your killbox. You can also achieve 5 skulls this way with ease, personally I was even rushing it a lot, starting waves immediately and going in to kill some of the enemy waves all by myself, and I ended with more than 8 minutes to spare. The last level was actually the easiest war scenario, because it is the only war level without a boss encounter.

The key is knowing where the portals spawn. Like Hollow said ignore the outside, that gives
you essentially a square inside w/ quality kill box rooms in NW,NE,SE corners.

Wave 1 I blocked R stairs (outside) Kill box in NW corner. Over time block all steps to rift except south (they need a spot to enter), and put a wall to left of south stairs to complete the sealed loop. 2nd wave rift you will have to solo, but its weak so you should be fine. After that only 3 of the remaining rift portals can bypass NW kill box and you have several waves before any of those come. Toss up kill box in SE corner to take those out.

I do the first wave outside then barricade around the rift:

For the on-map Grinders I haven't tried this yet but with the "Flips Heavy Orcs" upgrade you could probably get some big ones into the grinders which could save you a lot of shots (especially on Armored Ogres and Mountain Trolls).

I made a killbox on the southeast corner OUTSIDE the middle square. It has a very nice box for it. Inside you don't have the ceiling space for ceiling traps.

Obviously blockade all entrances to the rift except the one leading to that.

Only 1 unstable rift is a problem, on the last wave. I have a ton of coin at that point so I just fill out the path with traps and it's taken care of.

I never bother with the gates, just let them inside and make a good killbox there.
its actually one of the simplest levels just don't waste resources on the expensive war traps and you should be fine.

I did it in coop..

If you're struggling try going back and grinding some of the early levels to earn Skulls and fully upgrade all your traps and weapons.

Reminder you can earn +2 Skulls on any level with the Untouchable bonus (take no damage). Maps 1-3 are the easiest because there are no Orc Archers. Later you can use your own Archers or Decoys so the Orc Archers don't pay as much attention to you.

A bit of grinding is a staple for all tower defense games - always has been.

Barricade the "front" two stairs to the rift and the "back" stairs, block one of the sides and funnel them all through one side to make a long kill zone. If you got to that point then I assume you know how to make one so just try to kill stuff as it walks along you tarred and spiked path all the way and you further barricade before the rift and make them walk all the way around the room if needed.

Yes its cheesy but the map's "mechanic" makes it kind of pointless to defend the outside other than some archers to thin the herds.

as others have said funnel everything on the map into a killbox inside theres plenty of coin avalable ive generally finished 90% of the kill box from starting mana block off one entrance from the frount also makes for fun things as ucan funnel them all in one side and have lazer beams across the entrance arrow walls on the side and some ice saw blades on the floor really thins out most things before they get to the main kill box handy for the last few waves

This is my latest run, different strategy than the first (see above). This one uses the Lightning Ring, which adds a Lightning Storm above the rift. Path the orcs around the rift and watch the rift do something useful for a change! :cozybethesda:

And that's what has always been great about OMD, there's never just One Right Way to do anything. Do what works for you!

I protected inside the temple. I forced them to only come through a single entry point and in that entry point maneuvered them via blockades. Then spammed CC and DMG traps.
