Chickens.

I have hay in my coop, and some is missing so presumably the chickens have eaten some but they are all saying they are starving. I also can't fiogure out how to give them water. Help please?

Hello,

For precaution I would hand feed the starving ones so you know they definitely have enough food in them to last the night.
You can add water to the troughs in the coop as well.
The bigger issue is why your chickens are not eating from the troughs in the coop.
Do they have a sickness?
How many chickens do you have?
When you check the door of the coop how many does it tell you it has linked to it?

it had 4. Turns out the starving thing was just its way of telling me there was no water. alll 3 hens and 1 rooster 'starved' to death despite actually eating. I ended up adding an autofeeder, putting up a water tower and silo and it seems to be ok now
