Denuvo sucks.
All I have to say is that this game doesn't need Denuvo, and the inclusion of it downright messes with the experience.

I should not have to have an internet connection to play a singleplayer Sonic game.

This really needs to be removed within the next year, last thing we want is for Denuvo to stay and keep causing performance issues and mandating an internet connection JUST to play the game.

You don't have to have an Internet connection, except once every 2 weeks.

In other news, water is wet.

DRM isn't going anywhere so long as it creates even a minute window of safety when it comes to games being pirated.

Keep beating a dead horse though.

Who am I to judge when I like difficult games where I effectively slam my head into a brick wall until it crumbles? Not Frontiers, obviously. Though I am having a blast with it on an i5 GTX960 build from 2015 with no major performance issues. Denuvo and all. :2016bee:

Denuvo after making a lot of games use them for no reason: (they do nothing but slow down your pc)

This, Origins and Colors Ultimate still haven't been cracked so as far as Sega is concerned the service they are paying for is doing its job and so they put it in Frontiers which is probably still not cracked.

Not to mention that when Denuvo's servers are shut down that all Denuvo games become unplayable the next time they want to verify.

We even had Denuvo's servers become unreachable for a weekend because of a domain expiration.

Sega does this for nearly all of their games on steam, even sonic origins for some reason. Best to avoid any sega games on pc, esp this one.

Luckily that's a non-issue, because as long as SEGA is paying the yearly license for Denuvo, those servers aren't shutting down.

Except they literally brought up a GT7 type of situation where the servers that need to be connected to went offline for a period of time, meaning nobody could connect to authenticate their game despite the DRM still being valid and being used.

Another reason this sort of DRM hurts paying customers - the servers can go offline at any time for any reason, locking genuine buyers out of the game they paid for, even if the end user has a perfectly fine internet connection and even if SEGA is paying the licence to keep Denuvo active.

Which has already happened more than once in the past.

There was the WB server downtime (caused all WB Denuvo games to go down) and the Codefusion domain expiration (causing all Denuvo servers to be unreachable).

It's a shame this game has Denuvo, truly. A single player game has no right containing Denuvo.

Almost as if that means you actually DO have to have an internet connection, eh?

Single player games have more reason to have Denuvo, multiplayer games are usually already online and don't need it.
