Anyone here remember Dark Omen game?
Hayo Lads!
As we have few excellent mods referring to Dark Omen game , i wonder how many of You played the original game back in the time.
Or maybe some of You remember Shadow of the Horned Rat even?
These two games were hard as nails but such beloved by me, i even had an avatar on Steam from Dark Omen one.
How do You think , can CA release some dlc with story driven campaigns in the future?
Just think about how cool it was in Dark Omen to go through all these crazy hard battles and to learn about new troops etc.

If You are fans of this game here are mods for You:

Yuppers... I remember gettin owned the first couple of times. But THAT game was fun as all get out. Also Final Liberation FTW.

Oh yeah , Final Liberation was cool too.
As for Dark Omen i played it from start up to finish for one week during hot summer as teenager, it was so awesome, after that game i started collecting Warhammer Fantasy Battle and Rpg goodies.
My favourite battle was that one in the Drakenhoff castle and a short trip to Kislev.

I didn't play either of those but I played a bit of Mark of Chaos back in the day.

I do remember they were games, and I played them, but I had no idea what warhammer was back then. I think I'd enjoy them more today. :)

Aye it will be sweet to have Dark Omen on GOG like they did for SotHR.

We might get DLC's based on those old campaigns in WH3 as well - Thrones of Decay and Shadows of Change were both based on old story campaigns.

Ah Falaris it will be so great! Even similar campaign would be okay.

Ah yeah, "Commander Bernhardt". Was an awesome game back in the day.

The cannon was a little lethal though, I remember the first few times I used it I got "Watch your fire!" Over and over cause I was killing my own troops hehe.

The music was pretty awesome too.

Did you ever play Shadow of the Horned Rat too? I thought that was pretty good too.

Yeah i played Shadow of the H.R. too, it was even harder due to UI but excellent game too!

I played Dark Omen but if i remember correctly stopped after a handful of battles because i am no good at high difficulties. Also playing TW3 on normal difficulty. I liked the basic premise of dark omen but couldn´t manage the difficulty.

Were there not other games like dark omen? I believe i played other similar games but never managed to finish them because of the difficulty.

Aye difficulty was very high and units carried wounds from one battle to another, but it was splendid as an adventure, each mission had talking heads before and after that introduced to the situation.
I remember to this very day last battle with hand of nagash himself or maybe it was dread king alone.

certainly do, and the fact that it took CA another 18 years to figure out that warhammer is the perfect universe for total war was really surprising to me.

i liked the small scale of dark omen, as you're only a mercenary army so formations had low unit count and you could focus more on micro managing units

the only thing that felt really odd/dated in terms of mechanics was that you had to hammer space bar once units entered combat to get a combat bonus

a lot of things were similar to this game though, fire wizard with similar spells (burning head even more op in that game), matchups with unit types more or less the same and you could equip items/banners to various units

Hell yeah!

I actually thought the dispel system was something they could have easily added to TW : WH.
