Twenty Four Nov 8, 2013 @ 2:57pm
a little tedious but not bad for a first go. you scared the shit out of me at one point! LOL could use some music tho. Great job, Keep it up!

Thx dude. I have 2 other Hammer-Maps. I tried to create a storyline, maybe you would try these. Thx for playing and commenting

Dude, for a first Hammer map, it was great! The layout of the chamber was cool but then you threw that explosion which landed the player underground...that was awesome! The explosions + earthquake made that moment incredible. The crane was unexpected, though like some ppl said it was kinda boring after a while, but nonetheless amazing work. I hope to see more of your awesome Hammer creations!
Trexau  [author] Oct 9, 2013 @ 5:44am
yeah, I should remove the grates or change them to a door...
Space Potato Oct 9, 2013 @ 5:42am
Good work, but boring during the crane chamber!!!
BUG Oct 4, 2013 @ 2:29pm
That was fun,nice work
Chirpy Oct 4, 2013 @ 10:13am
Wonderful use of the crane
Trexau  [author] Sep 27, 2013 @ 10:09am
lol, you spend a lot time at the crane part ^^ not as clear as I thought

Hi. Here is my blind play of this map. Check the video description to find your part. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rFHvFsFd-yY

Great map!!!
Trexau  [author] Sep 26, 2013 @ 2:30am
thx
@DxL3927: I thought so too, but it's not a big accomplishment at well, you just have to know, how to make it, it's very easy ^^
Anachronistic ALLOS Sep 25, 2013 @ 11:16pm
For a first Hammer map, the 'crane game' aspect was rather impressing. Well done. Though, having to return the 'crane' to the hole in the ceiling to reload was a little time-consuming.
StackSmasher Sep 25, 2013 @ 8:33pm
Nive job. I've been teaching myself Hammer for a little while now. Needless to say, having a workshop compatible chamber is a big accomplishment. Keep it up! :balloon:

This is something I expect a college student to come up with for a project. It is not very Portal-like.

Try my coop map?

yeah, you must first activate the fuse on the wall leftside of the entrance to turn the power on
presto668 Sep 25, 2013 @ 10:07am
Heh. What I meant was I didn't get the on-screen text telling me how to make the cube drop, etc. I got the "no power" and "locked" messages but not the others.
Trexau  [author] Sep 25, 2013 @ 9:33am
You are not the only one, who was confused in crane room ;-)
presto668 Sep 25, 2013 @ 8:27am
I had to watch the video posted below because I wasn't getting any of the hints in the crane room.
Trexau  [author] Sep 24, 2013 @ 9:04am
Yeah, you should get the vote-screen at the end
Ravenscaur Sep 24, 2013 @ 8:46am
I, too, am impressed with this being your first Hammer map... impressive. The whole spirit of the place was absorbing.
Was there anything after breaking the glass?
Trexau  [author] Sep 24, 2013 @ 3:46am
Hey, thx for your feedback. In cause of all the motivation I've decided to make another map and create a storyline for the following maps. The first one is complete (maybe I have to add some details, but it works). It's a small map only, build for starting the storyline and to get the portalgun.

I made a blind run of 10 chambers and yours was one of them. The description lists the maps in the order they were played in the video. Happy portaling!

thanks very much!!
Trexau  [author] Sep 22, 2013 @ 3:18pm
thx for all the comments and playing xD

@Hobby Boy: Did you see the cubes in the crane room?

@commander2005: I'm working on a new map, but when I finished, I can take a look at your problem, but I can not promise I'm able to help you, I'm just a greenhorn yet ^^
CATGIR Sep 22, 2013 @ 2:18pm
I cant even make a hammer map this awesome!
Hobby Boy Sep 22, 2013 @ 1:30pm
What are you meant to do after breaking the glass with the crane? I can't work out which way to go, as the other door doesn't open.
commander2005 Sep 22, 2013 @ 12:13pm
first hammer map? hmm. other people cannot do this after 200 maps and 5 years :)
anyway, one of the best map i played in the last 6 months!
if you have time, please vsit my "harris wheel" because i have an ask:
perhaps you can tell me how to build a carousell (exactly like the laser machine),
so the "player" cannot hurl/sling or squirm through and out of the rotating and moving car.
in the big roundabout a ride is possible, but sometimes the player also stucks.
thanks!
Trexau  [author] Sep 22, 2013 @ 10:33am
Yes, it was my first, but it had taken a long time to do all that things. Learning by doing ^^ Next map(s) will be completed faster I hope
Mr.YEET Sep 22, 2013 @ 10:20am
first hammer map?!?! this is actually awesome! i dont know how you do guys are able to make such crazy maps with all the controllable things and all that but its awesome, keep up the good work man
Dominoid73 Sep 22, 2013 @ 9:12am
Very nice. Keep at Hammer. I thought the crane part worked well and wasn't clunky at all.
Bayram Sep 22, 2013 @ 6:29am
Excellent work, thumbs up! I had no problem figuring out what to do after just a little throught and exploration.
charles bronson Sep 21, 2013 @ 11:59pm
Good map with some interesting ideas. Took me a while to figure out the crane part but I got through in the end. Cheers.
Trexau  [author] Sep 21, 2013 @ 8:17pm
Yes, I know about that... Maybe I will add something for better orientation.

@Corbinator: You don't need Hammer to play that map, it's just made with Hammer. You can play it like any other map in Portal 2
Shotgun Shells Sep 21, 2013 @ 6:49pm
The part i think should be more clear is: after you got your dual-portalgun I (at first) didn't know where to go.

This is is just a pint to make you a better map-maker. :)
Camithebrick Sep 21, 2013 @ 6:43pm
Hammer Is TO Hard :[
Camithebrick Sep 21, 2013 @ 6:22pm
When I Use Hammer I CAN'T Play It OR Export it to Portal 2.....CAN YOU HELP ME???????
Trexau  [author] Sep 19, 2013 @ 3:14pm
Yes, it seemed really clunky and slow. I tried out higher velocitys, but that didn't look like reality... Although you just need to transport the cube for the glass-breaks... You can bomb the grates without using it, carry it all the way to the grates works too.

And thx for playing and commenting it :-)
KLJF22 Sep 19, 2013 @ 1:43pm
Awesome job! It was well done for your first Hammer map. Although, I didn't really like the crane part, it seemed clunky and slow. keep up the great work.
Trexau  [author] Sep 19, 2013 @ 1:20pm
As seen in description there are no complicated puzzles in the map. My focus was on working with Hammer and make things possible, trying out some ideas and work on the solution.

I tried out Hammer just because I was interested in doing that things, I couldn't do with the in-game editor and there is a mass of application possibilities while working with the Authoring Tool.

It took a long time and many many tutorials while working on this map. And, of course, I only scratch on the surface with my experience now. Hope to get faster and more creative in future.

I would be glad for comments :-)

And sorry for my english, I'm not a native English speaker ^^
