The map should be AI compatible but it's not something I've thoroughly tested.

Ah, unfortunately that screenshot mode doesn't work with the new Age of Empires HD. The team managed to break it. If you have a copy of the original game it's Ctrl+F12 and you can select the resolution to render too.

I guess for the purpose of trade it makes sense to do that, otherwise tradecarts might be walking through the middle of the map to get to allies (and would get attacked on the way).

Hi Zetnus, thanks for the nice comment, glad you've enjoyed it :) The direct paths are a result of me adding in additional team connections for trade, it was a trade off with the paths being more random looking better but all too frequently skipping a more direct path to your teammate or the direct paths which would always allow quick access to allies but often look too stiff/unatural.

I really like it; especially the lakes that are completely surrounded by water.
If I could suggest one thing: maybe try increasing the terrain cost of the connections going through forest, because at the moment you have completely straight paths of shallows cutting though forest (unless that's what you are going for). I just think it would look more real if the connections weren't straight, but that's just my opinion.
