I didn't solve this without your YT walkthrough. The gears of my brain struggle to manipulate the logic of three 'temporary' light bridges, each with their non-adjacent activation switches, plus the physics of two portals. I hope I absorb something of use from viewing the solution and then following the steps myself. Otherwise I am doomed to eternal stupidity :steammocking:

Good grief! This one took me a looooong time to figure out. Great challenge.

You can stand on the glass to skip a brainy step towards the end. Also noticed there's a few other unintended strats below. But not the biggest deal since 1. it's not that different from the intended move anyway and 2. it's an old map, so oh well. Just thought I'd point it out nevertheless. Still a very good and challenging bridge/laser puzzle nevertheless. (Originally found this in the old version of the puzzle, "Lasers & Light Bridges, still present in this version.)

Difficulty: 7/10
Design: 8.5/10
Enjoyed: 8/10

Luckily I remembered that figuring out the first step was the hardest part for me in the original. Solved this one a lot quicker, but still required some effort.

nice map. but i guss i use the unintented solution.:steamhappy:

Since it doesn't add anything but a tutorial room, you may as well delete the original. Btw the tutorial mechanism is not the one that raises the difficulty of this map. Already in the original I became desperate with the one move that involves the upper surface/platform .

There was some jank at the end. If you didn't have the cube that redirects a laser at an obtuse angle placed just right, the light bridge it activated would randomly turn off while you were attempting to use it to get to the exit door.
Libbybapa Jun 5, 2020 @ 5:52pm
I enjoyed it. I found a several different ways to solve it, though.

Found an unintended solution, its a lot faster than the intended. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2118527364
You just have to move this box forward while not disrupting the connection.

Very challenging and fun map, liked it a lot! But I think I didn't use the intended solution. I placed the cubes as shown in the screenshot below and did the same thing as Asterion at the end

Great map! It actually is just a bit easier than the original. Thanks!

what a fun map, at first i thought. this should be coop you need to be in 2 different places. but got it in the end . nice!
mako Jan 11, 2017 @ 1:23am
It's dawning on me that I probably wasn't supposed to carefully move the cube in the intro room over to the other side and use it to reflect a beam towards the second beam receptor , but it felt like a veru clever solution when I did it.
lfairban Dec 26, 2016 @ 11:25am
OK, I did it correctly this time I think. You should raise the barrier a little if you can.
lfairban Dec 26, 2016 @ 11:15am
I did it like Asterion. If this is not right, you may wish to raise the barrier in the center.

Very nice design. This one took me a while. I had to sleep on it.

I solved it but... is this the intended solution? SPOILER https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lFGewj6iaY4
zigzagtenniscoe Aug 11, 2015 @ 2:59pm
but it was still very challenging and fun. The difficulty was just right for me. Now that might be because I've been playong other very challenging maps of yours, and it could be me getting even better at Portal 2. Nonetheless this is still an amazing puzzle. :)
zigzagtenniscoe Aug 11, 2015 @ 2:57pm
Amazing masterpiece! I really like the idea behind the puzzle and using it in very clever and interesting ways. The thing I notice with your maps is that they put whatever's in the game - whether it be momentun, lasers and light bridges, or sometihng else, and using it in ways never imagined before, that are very clever. I always learn something new when completing these maps. This one did seem a bit easier than the other ones, took about 15 or so minutes as opposed to 45 minues (continued in the next post...)

made it after 2 weeks

Per my previous comment, I made a chamber based on what I thought you were going to do. I'd love to hear what you think, since it's based on your chamber: [Improved geometry version] http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=412833450

(Your aesthetics are, of course, far superior)

Great puzzle! Had me thoroughly stumped for the longest time. I thought you needed to get the cube from the entrance room, and that the laser catcher there was tied to the fizzler. I tried carrying the cube across the bridge while still pointing at the catcher, only to realize I was entirely wrong. The solution is truer to the concept of the puzzle, so great job!

It made me feel better when I saw Mevious try this in a video and give up.

Finally I did it. Azorae, thanks for your great maps. They make me think that I'm not hopeless lol
Kuba Sep 13, 2014 @ 10:52am
Original map is much better. The first room is unnecessary suggestion which spoils some of the challenge in the second.

Liked it very much!

Another great chamber.. thank you!
I really like the mix of lasers and bridges, and the final step is very clever!
多崎つくる Apr 25, 2014 @ 4:33pm
I feel like I didn't solve it correctly... Is there a tutorial somewhere?
Snave Apr 11, 2014 @ 9:14am
Straightforward logic, but easy to overthink it. I bet there's a lot of variance in solving times depending on what people try first. Great map.

One of your best maps.

Got to the second room and said "Oh, deja vu." Glad I was familiar with this chamber, because it took me a lot longer on the earlier one.

Great map. Took me a long while.

The map should be fixed now.
Azorae  [author] Jul 16, 2013 @ 12:41am
Ah, that's because this one isn't made correctly. I'm going to make sure everything is fine. The original one is still solvable, but the cube retrieval button doesn't work
Hazellius Jul 15, 2013 @ 3:05pm
It doesn't have an X on the Trenches one, but I didn't know how else I could identify it.
Hazellius Jul 15, 2013 @ 3:03pm
I'm pretty sure making this version broke something, because even though I managed to solve this one, I'm still not able to solve the lasers and light bridges one. Also, I didn't need the bridge that has the X next to it.
