Allows you to host, entertain and recruit visitors.

Description
Have you been wondering what the point of visiting factions is? Look no further, this mod is the answer.

- Convince visitors to join your faction!
- Increase faction relationships!
- Treat visitors well by providing them with rooms, guest beds and joy activities!
- Sell them junk by placing it in their shopping area! (shelves and containers work too)
- Happy guests will help out with your chores!
- Guests can be invited via the Comms Console!
- There is a tab that lists all present guests!
- You can set up dispensers as vending machines!

Can be added mid-game.

Load order
Hospitality works best when loaded as late as possible. You can safely put it at the end of the list.

Known incompatible mods
- Any mod that gives guests animals (or slaves),
- Giddy Up (works fine, but guests won't use mounts)
- Colony Manager (you will need to start a new game, or your work priorities will be jumbled - you can use Fluffy's Work Tab to prevent/fix this)
- Xenn faction mod (their guest groups won't spawn)
- Custom storytellers that are not fully / correctly implemented (guest tab won't show. Always load Hospitality after storytellers)
- Area Inclusion Exclusion (pawns won't spawn)
- Denser Beds (bunkbeds break when turned to guest beds)
- Ignorance Is Bliss (factions out of your tech range won't visit)
- Keep Bed Ownership (guest beds can't be destroyed)
- Simple Sidearms (will not work correctly if the "No friendly inventory spill" option is on)
- Explorite Core (guests won't be able to claim beds)
- Simple Food Selection (constant no food alert, lag)
- Camping Tent (stats are lost when converting to guest bed)
- Food restrictions (not a mod, but guests use the default restrictions. Changing them can cause them to never eat)
- Better Loading (guest beds disappear / can't be placed)

Reporting bugs
Should you encounter any issues, first make sure the mod has updated correctly. You do this by unsubscribing and resubscribing whatever mod you think causes the issue. Then restart Steam. If this doesn't help, clear out your downloaded mods folder and restart Steam.

If the issue persists, press CTRL-F12 (right after the problem occurs!) to upload your log and paste the link and a description of what went wrong HERE[github.com] or in the discussions section. If possible, provide a screenshot of the error, the link to your log and an explanation of what happened. This will speed up fixing the problem tremendously.

In 90% of all cases, the problem is a conflicting mod, failed update or a corrupted installation on your side. First try to resubscribe this mod (and restart Steam), then try a different load order. The Mod Manager mod and Mod Sorter[bitbucket.org] can help find obvious issues.

If you just complain and don't include an error log, I'm not gonna do anything about it.

It's perfectly normal that you can't just remove mods. RimWorld doesn't have a mechanism for clean mod removal from savegames.
When I asked them about this the last time, they claimed adding mods mid-game isn't officially supported either. To be fair, that's at least 5 years ago, but still.

@gh0stashes: I've never heard of this before, but I won't claim it's not possible. However, Hospitality is used by a metric ton of people, so the odds that someone who has the same bug also uses hospitality are pretty high.

@Jebeni Papa I'm getting the same issue in regards to Spaceports, any spaceport trader only has a couple components, reinforced barrels and survival meals for sale. Idk if that's related to this mod.

Safe to add but bricks things like Menus etc when removed, alongside this by using this mod you'll essentially get 0 traders (they can be traded with but not once in a 50+ day playthrough did they have more than a 2/3 items on them)

I think Hospitality may be causing an INCREDIBLY bizarre bug that is, very rarely, cloning one of my colonists? There's no obelisk on my map or anomalies to clone, no notices of weird dead bodies, etc. She just showed up in a prison cell next to her OG self and I'm not sure what exactly triggered it, but two other people who've had this happen also were using Hospitality.

@sumghai: Yeah, that seems like a good idea. Let's do that.
@Alu: Finding performance bottlenecks is a pretty time consuming task. Usually it's because another mod hooks into a frequently used function, making it slower (or even causing errors).
It can also be due to functions being used that are inherently slow. But generally speaking, the more mods you have that overload stuff, the slower things will get. So don't use a lot of mods if lag bothers you 🤷‍♂️

G'day @Orion,

I've had a number of players ask if my MedPod mod could be made compatible with Hospitality, and I recently found some time to look into this feature request.

I have some questions regarding how Hospitality works under the hood, and what modifications are needed for both mods to work together.

Should I open a new ticket on GitHub, where we can discuss things further?

Anyone knows how to reduce the lag? For some reason this mod lags the game a ton, especially when human/shambler raids come, i know the experience is different for everyone since various mods but does someone have some tips or tricks to make things smoother? I have hospitality 2nd to last in the list, right before rocketman. Aside from that not sure what i can do.

Since you mentioned revising the incompatibilities list:

Android Tiers Reforged is discontinued, replaced by Mechanical Humanlikes which is also discontinued, and slated to be replaced with Artificial Beings. So that one's probably safe to remove from the incompatibilities list until someone reports AB as incompatible.

Outfitted is a mod I used for probably hundreds of hours of playing through 1.4 with absolutely no issues with guests purchasing items, so I can personally vouch for those two being compatible.

I've also noticed a stutter when a guest gets charmed or entertained.
