Wooden Dowels [b41+]

Handmade wooden dowels give you access to realistic alternatives to nails and screws!
Craft Wooden Dowels with Knife and Saw.
Build using Wooden Dowels with Screwdriver and Hammer.

Dowels making and crafting is now knowledge based and equivalent to the metalworking/herbalist recipes:

• Automatically acquired by occupations with Carpentry and Short Blunt background: Carpenter, Construction Worker and Repairman.
  
• Anyone can take the Dowel Enthusiast trait for two points to learn the dowels recipes on character creation.
  
• Find the Wooden Dowels Magazine to learn the recipes during your playthrough.

Crafting wooden dowels grants a very small amount of Carpentry experience.
It will also produce wooden leftovers. This gives less of an impression that the remaining wood from the source has vanished and allows for upcycling as fuel for instance.

Dowels from planks:

• Requires: Saw, Knife and a consumed Plank
  
• Produces: 4 ~ 6 Dowels. High carpentry skill produces more dowels.
  
• Byproduct: 1 Scrap Wood.

Dowels from tree branch:

• Requires: Saw, Knife and a consumed Tree Branch
  
• Produces: 2 Dowels.
  
• Byproduct: 1 Twigs. High carpentry skill produces more twigs.

Menu to build with dowels will only appear if the player has both a Hammer and a Screwdriver.
Carpentry with dowels is harder and consumes more resources but it also yields more experience!

This gives another incentive to push the carpentry to higher levels. Here is the generic rule that governs all of the crafts with dowels when compared to nails:

• Consumes 1 more plank and 2 more dowels when compared to nails.
  
• Yields 1 ~ 2 additional experience points per craft.

New magazine and wooden dowels are placeable in the world! I reused vanilla mesh models and made custom textures from existing ones.

Note that for future proofing and to avoid conflicts I had to move dowels from base to their own package “DowelsMod”. This may cause loss of existing dowels when migrating from b40 to b41. It also adds a new tab in the cheat items menu.
