16"/50 Capital Naval Guns

The largest turret I have planned, Triple 16" based loosely on the MK7 Iowa turret. This turret is HUGE, larger than I actually wanted the base to be due to major clipping issues with the turret if I made it any smaller (collision mesh outside block placement box are ignored sadly)
I feel the base part of the block needs some more (any really) detailing but am unsure what to even do since its intended to be buried in armor. There are a couple other parts that I'll be tweaking the details on when I get to the 2nd pass (once I'm comfortable texturing) that might look a little plain right now, but I didn't want to sit on this thing any longer since almost every request I've gotten has been for a battleship turret.

Survival Ready w/Build States.

I'm open to balance suggestions as this thing's scale actually makes it a bit tricky (but keep in mind I want balance between my own guns more than against other modders')

Currently Contains:
16" Triple (270,180 - HE and AP) = -135,90 to +135,90 traverse -5 to +45 elevation
16" Fixed Gun small and large ship (WIP) no build states

Known Issues:
-Using Keen textures and audio on all V1 releases
-No buildstates
-Minor clipping issues on the turret, to fix these I would need to make the turret smaller (which ends up looking like crap) or the base larger (which it already is 9x9 where I wanted a 7x7). This is a result of the way collision meshes are handled by the game and I have no good solution.
-Rate of fire is a bit odd (slow, 4 shot burst) due to the fact that a 4 shot burst is the only way to make a multi barrel weapon in SE for the moment.
-Some instances of broken texturing on world load, hard to reproduce and cause unknown. Workarounds: 1) Grind down to a build state and reweld or 2) Cut/paste the offending ship.

Additional notes:
Barrel diameter and legnth are actually accurate to scale, though some of the barrel is inside the model with enough space for breach and a plausible loading mechanism (although it might be tight in some cases).
Also, if you want to modify these in some way be sure to give credit.

I've got about 200 hours of new experience in blender, and I'm going to once more attempt to fix this and update it.

I did try to fix these already and the update process is... way more taxing than I thought. I'll try my hand at this again to try and fix this, and if I can I'll see about fixing the others.

Don't hold your breath though, I bet now with the weapons update these are going to need a lot more update work.

I literally stopped playing SE because these became outdated.
I'd built a massive battleship based around them and I just haven't had the heart to go in and tear them out and try to build a new system. Literal years building that beefy boi. <3

Does anyone know where i can find fixed textured versions of these, id like to bring them back alive but have no experience in texturing or models.

I felt that in essence taking your entire works and reuploading them with proper updates was more than a simple "Modification".

And credit is/always should be given regardless.

Wow, I didn't expect you to respond! I used to use your mod so much back before. I had the whole set! Even designed a few old ships with them.

You really shouldn't feel guilty honestly. Space Engineers isn't a full time job and nobody should actually expect you or any mod author to keep up with a mod indefinitely. I appreciate you even making these to start. With your permission though, I'd like to attempt to update them to Dx11 and keep them going. I should be able to decompress the mods from my SE mods folder easy enough but I didn't want to do it without your express permission to do so.

I'd also like to add you if you'd be kind enough.

Yes, I feel guilty about dropping the project to the point that I can't bring myself to even open the game... unfortunately I don't know where the source files are, I think they exist somewhere still but buried

And if I could even ask, I'd totally update the lot of these guns, if only to have them working for my game again at least.
