Scream Fortress 2014: Carnival of Carnage

I will show you how to unlock all of the Scream Fortress achievements available by playing the Carnival of Carnage event. I will also give you details about the Halloween mini game, Bumper Car Madness.

Introduction

This series of guides will show you how to unlock all of the Scream Fortress achievements available by playing the Carnival of Carnage event. It will also give you details about the Halloween mini game, Bumper Car Madness.

This is a seasonal guide. Certain parts of this guide can't be completed unless the Scream Fortress event is going on. If you'd like to learn about the other Halloween events, read the guides below.

sd_doomsday_event

Carnival of Carnage is a Special Delivery map. It is a spooky overhaul of sd_doomsday with Halloween themed visuals and sounds. Carnival of Carnage also has a second layer of gameplay where players compete at one of three bumper cart mini games once the package has been delivered.





Pumpkin bombs are scattered throughout the map which explode when they are hit, damaging anybody standing around them.




Carnival of Carnage also has a different style of health pack. They are themed as a cauldron, a pie box and a chocolate bar.




Randomly during the game Merasmus will perform a spell on every player. These can range from being put underwater, big heads and more.





Launching TF2 during Scream Fortress will grant you a Spellbook Magazine. Players who have a spellbook equipped in their action slot can pick up and use spells which appear around the map in the form of crystal balls. These spells can vary from meteor showers, invisibility and more. You can cast a spell by clicking on your action slot key.

Special Delivery

Both teams start at opposite ends of the map and must race to collect the suitcase of tickets. The tickets must be bought to the "Strongmann" elevator and held there until it reaches the top. The team which delivers the tickets to the top of the elevator wins the round.




The suitcase indicator on your heads up display will point you in the direction of the tickets.

Bumper Car Madness

Once the suitcase of tickets has been delivered to the "Strongmann" elevator one of three bumper car mini games will commence. The team which lost the special delivery portion of the game starts of with a damage modifier applied to their bumper cars which causes them to bounce around more.


The controls for the bumper cars are universal no matter what class you're playing. You're able to jump in your car as well as use a temporary speed boost by clicking your secondary fire button. Each bumper car mini game also has spells scattered throughout the course which can be used.

If you're pushed off the map in your bumper car you'll turn into a ghost. If you can make it back to the course and touch a friendly player you'll respawn.

• Looting Gallery
  
  The Looting Gallery mini game has your team collecting rubber ducks which spawn throughout the course and whenever you hit another player with your bumper car. Merasmus will switch their location on occasion. The first team to collect 200 wins the round.
  
  
  
  
  
• Elimination
  
  The Elimination mini game involves pushing members of the other team off the edge of the map. During the round Merasmus will select a random tile and highlight it green. After a few seconds everything but that tile will dissapear for a short period of time. The first team to successfully push the entire other team off wins. If the game goes on for too long the Horseless Headless Horsemann will appear and attempt to knock players off the platforms.
  
  
  
  
  
• Bumper Car Soccer
  
  The Bumper Cart Soccer mini game involves pushing a giant ball into the opposite teams goal. The first team to score three goals wins. After a while the Horseless Headless Horsemann will appear and attempt to knock players off the pitch. If the game goes on for too long past that point sudden death mode is activated and the first team to score a goal wins.
  
  

Achievements

Scattered throughout the map are pumpkins with explosives strapped to them. To earn the achievement hit one of these pumpkins when a player is standing close to one. This will cause the pumpkin to detonate, damaging the player standing near it.







Killing an enemy spy who is disguised as your current class will unlock this achievement. Spy-check anybody you see who is the same class as you.







The Ghasty Gibus Grab can be earned year round. Dominating any player wearing a Ghastly Gibus will earn you the achievement and your own Ghastly Gibus hat.







Located where the ticket suitcase spawns is a ghost which patrols. Whenevr a player comes in contact with them they will be stunned and the word "Yikes" will appear over their head. To earn this achievement simply kill somebody who is under this effect.







Each time a player is killed they have roughly a 12% chance of dropping a Halloween pumpkin. Upon collecting the pumpkin you will get credit towards the achievement and a short crit buff. It doesn't matter who kills the player as long as you pick up the pumpkin. You'll also receive a hat for completing the achievement.






Merasmus will occasionally put a spell on every player in the game. One of the spells he casts takes away your ability to use your guns. To earn this achievement kill 15 enemies while under the effect of this spell.






Driving your bumper car into another player will knock them back. To earn this achievement knock 30 players off the map using your car.






Score three goals during Bumper Car Soccer to earn this achievement. They don't have to be in a single game.






Whenever your bumper car touches a friendly ghost it resurrects them. To earn this achievment you'll need to resurrect 30 team mates.






To earn this achievement you'll need to personally collect 250 ducks during the Looting Gallery mini game.






To earn this achievement you must win a round of the Looting Gallery, Elimination and Bumper Car Soccer. Earning this achievement will grant you an additional gift cauldron.




This achievement will unlock when you've completed four of the Carnival of Carnage specific achievements. Earning this achievement will grant you a Necro Smasher.

That's a great guide! 1 question though: If I missed the "Carnival Of Carnage: Bumper To Bumper To Bumper" achievement, I need to wait a year to be able to unlock it and get the additional gift cauldron?
