if you're going to pick it up now's the best time to do it, the game's about to fully come out and the price increase so if you ever did want to play it pick it up now and you won't be disappointed!

The game while being a good game isn't a good Tekken game. Even ignoring the day 1 patch to make multiplayer work and stop people from crashing there's still so many balancing issues that make the game feel super bad right now. Even if we ignore characters like Yoshimitsu the game is still brain dead as all hell, most players just learn 1 combo and repeat it for the entire match, comp ranks are still super unbalanced and the game while it feels nice the damage is just way too high and some characters are just blatantly over powered. Now don't get me wrong, I don't care about the new in game shop and battle pass, heck I like the idea of a battle pass for some cosmetics like titles or avatar cosmetics (not character cosmetics) but here's some issues with the store:
1) if someone's using a DLC character you can't watch the replay unless you own the DLC
2) DLC characters are top tier for no reason
3) they keep pushing the store onto you (an example of this being the notification that pops up after an update showing new stuff in the store)
4) I don't like how the latest DLC character is forced onto the main menu, give me my boy Kazuya back or an option to set it to a character I want

If you're going to play the arcade mode the bots are also EXTREMELY easy even on the hardest difficulty, the only 'hard' bots are the player ghosts and those aren't hard because nobody cares about the ghosts to train them so for every battle against a bot you just turn your brain off and mash combo until you win.
The STORY MODE HOWEVER has actually hard bots on the hardest difficulty, I'm not sure if it's because haha Kazuya top tier or the larger health pools but the bots are actually difficult (IMO) and I'm not sure why they didn't just move across that difficulty to the actual arcade mode.

TL:DR:
Just don't buy the game in it's current state, not balanced, they greeding via pushing DLC/battle pass, bots aren't hard and comp just isn't viable to play at the moment because the ranks feel imbalanced atm
Also I broke my keyboard because this game made me rage so much it gave me anger issues which I never had before, 3/10

Worse than FFXIV and has pay to win elements but at least you don't have to pay a monthly subscription to play it

If you can get it running in VR then it's a mediocre single player port of the original game. No multiplayer, crosshair and huds are always misaligned. Unless you are prepared to go through hell to get the game running in VR and to remove the crosshair and hud then just don't get the game. If 2K/Gearbox ever release an update then I hope they'll make the game playable.

With the new story mode and mod support the games never been better, if there's a time to pick it up I'd recommend doing it

totally worth buying, a nice game with good gameplay however multiplayer is still player to player meaning multiplayer can lag, still definitely worth it especially with friends
