I bought the game at launch and played through it in a few days and loved every minute of it, the game play is really fun and unique, having to attack to the beat of the music. Once you get into the flow of it, it feels so good to play. Now this system is only as good as the music the accompanies it, luckily this game has one of the best OSTs from any game in recent memory. Including songs from nine inch nails, the prodigy, the joy formidable as well as others. Along with some amazing original songs. I honestly don't think they could have picked better songs to go with this game. I'm also a massive fan of the cell-shaded (i think its called cell shaded???) art style which is really reminiscent of games such as jet set radio.

The story itself won't blow you away or anything but it is certainly very strong with a good premise and has a very nice ending. And is absolutely carried by its characters. Every single one of these characters are unique and vibrant and one of my favourite parts of this game, it's an absolute joy to hear them speak with each other throughout the game. I wish the game was longer just hear some more dialogue. If they made a HI-FI Rush show i would be over the moon.

Unfortunately as you probably know that will never happen as Microsoft has decided to shut Tango Gameworks (the studio behind this game) down just to try and recuperate the loss of their activision-blizzard buyout. A potential sequel to HI-FI Rush was actually being pitched just before the shutdown. You can tell how much the creators of this game adored and loved making it and it's honestly really sad that none of the developers will be able to work on a series they clearly cared so much about.

So, overall I can not recommend this game enough... HOWEVER PLEASE PIRATE IT. It's not like Tango Gameworks will lose any sales from you pirating the game and giving Microsoft money for this game after shutting down its studio feels like it tells Microsoft that it can just do this. Nah, tell Microsoft to go ♥♥♥♥ themselves and pirate this amazing game.

EDIT (like 5 mins after i made the review lol): if you still want the game on steam, use a key reseller. As that will actually cause Microsoft to lose money :D
