I was actually surprised by this game. I bought it because I heard it was going to be de-listed, and it sat in my library until this afternoon. While its design is a little dated nowadays, and it may show its influences often, it remixes them in a way that I really enjoyed, and I think that a similar current game could be very good.

The combat can be slow, and aiming a pain for certain weapons, but all in all, is solid. The vertical cover is a cool addition to cover that I think is underused. If there is an x axis and a y axis, why not a z axis?

It took me a long time to get used to the jetpack controls, but by the end I felt like a flying fox!

The biggest issue with playing the game was that I had a vsync-related crashing problem, like most people, at the boulders in the beginning. It seems that everyone has their own fixes for it, but none of them worked for me. What I ended up doing was turning vsync to a fixed 30 fps, and it never crashed after that. Hope that helps someone!

This game appeared to me at a unique time in my life, exactly when I needed it. It took its fingers and laid grooves on my soul, and I will forever cherish this game and what it did for me.

A thousand thanks, Tango. You deserved the world.

Maybe in a way this situation will have a good impact. It seems to be alerting people to the absurd, almost comical levels of greed that exist in the games industry, and other industries as well.

Game of the Decade, now unrestricted by Sony!

{Old Section here}
Full Clarification: I LOVE this game. It has given me hours of fun, and could very well be the best game of the decade. I cannot, however, support Sony and its greed. I laud this game as much as possible, and if the situation is rectified, I will switch my review and shout this game's virtues from the rooftops. Until then, it becomes a beautiful dream that I must wake up from.

Arrowhead, I love you and I wish you the best of luck. You deserved much better.

Until we know what the future brings, this is SGT. Bread of the SES Song of Perseverance, signing off.

I wanted to like this game, but ultimately I had no fun with it. The mouse drag mechanic is not intuitive, and neither is most anything else about this game. The progression is confusing, frustrating, and seems very unnecessary. (Do I really have to level each class in each faction?) On top of that, basically everyone in this game has been playing longer than you, and you'll find it very difficult to do anything during matches, and as an extra annoyance, this is one of those games where they put emphasis on voice-line spam, meaning your ears will be bleeding for the whole match.

This game will only cause you frustration, anger, and stress. I've played enough similar games (Dead By Daylight, For Honor, Mordhau) to know when a game is not worth my time.

This game has one of the most depressing atmospheres I've exeperienced, and the gameplay is not really worth anything. I guess if you like boring gameplay loops, lengthy progression, and general frustration, then this might be the game for you.

The music is good though

A fun mix of rpg and turn based, it scratched an itch left by Transistor.
A great story too, with likable characters and beautiful scenery. Absolutely would recommend!

You can make the most visually impressive film since Agent Gunn, or you can make an eyebleeding gumbo of a painting.

If you don't like this game, you're wrong.

I got this game with a purchase of Hades, and decided to play it a few days ago... Now I know it is a greatly underrated sleeper hit that deserved better.

The gameplay itself is VERY unique, and pulling off some neat plays nets immense satisfaction. It does get pretty difficult at times, and I never completed all of the individual exile's trials, but If you find a build that resonates with you, you can run circles around most enemies.

Now on to my favorite part: the story.
When I was a little kid, Bastion was one of the fist games I ever played, and the story was great. It had engaging, thoughtful characters, an incredible setting, and the story itself flowed smoothly and sensibly. By the end of it, it had me so engaged that I bawled my eyes out after. It was such a transporting experience that I felt every inch of ground the kid walked, every weapon the kid possessed, every pickaxe that connected or cloud of noxious gasses he breathed. Every high and low that came the kid's way, I rode out. Never had I experienced something like that before, and for a long, long while, I didn't connect with other games the same way. Even the other Supergiant games I'd played before this were hollow in comparison.

But then I downloaded this game, and just when i thought I'd never cry again, this game grew me a new set of tear ducts.

The player characters are incredible, and made me end up loving each and every one.
The enemy characters are incredible, each one having a unique and thoughtful part that complements the world.
The story partly flows from your choices, so depending on what you choose, you can get a satisfying ending, or not. The way I played it, it ended up the best way I can imagine it ending. A very beautiful thing it was, and it made me cry.

That was when I realized that this game is exellent.
It had engaged me in a way I hadn't felt for such a long time. The feelings that long lay dormant rose anew, and long lost memories were remembered.

There is little more that is as sad as finishing a good book. It is saying goodbye to an old friend that you will never see again. I played through once, and I will not play again. I'm happy with the outcome. Hopefully you will buy it, and get to experience this as I have.

In conclusion,

Nothing in the last few year has come close to this game, and likely nothing will.
