The weapons pack no punch. There's little satisfaction when you hit anything

I can't speak on the gameplay because I played less than 2 hours, but this game is not worth 60 bucks. It's worth at most 20 dollars.

To start things off, this is an extremely well made game. The game play is fun, it's very in-depth, and there's massive amounts of content but the problems outweigh it. The largest problem and strength of the game is the simple fact that it's a WW2 game. If you love WW2's history, HOI4 will not disappoint, it’s easily a 9/10 in that category. The problem with this game is that it’s only a WW2 simulator. After you learn the mechanics the game play is great but the games all eventually become the same. Even "alt history paths'' barely change the colors of a soon warring europe. The saving grace for replayable is friends. IF you can find WILLING and SIMILAR SKILL LEVEL friends to join you, it becomes an extremely fun team strategy game.


At time of writing I’ve played the game for 60 hours and spend at least 20 watching videos about it. I understand about 60% of the mechanics even with my time spent. The entire learning curve is f’ed and I've played a lot of RTS and grand strategy games. I had no clue on what I saw when I booted up the game. (I am not joking, there is so much going on). You cannot causally pick up this game, it requires hours of work to learn the game's most basic workings. I don’t have a clue how to use the Navy, operations, and the spy network. I also don’t understand almost any unit stats and what resistance is.


I went on rant at the end but message is:
Learning curve f(challenged)ucked
Great WW2
lacks replayability
Would not recommend it unless a WW2 game is worth it.
