This is a really fun little game! I got it in sale for 3€, but it's still a total steal at the full price of 4€.

Gameplay: a very fun mix between city-builder and card management. Seems somewhat simple, but can get very chaotic the further you progress. I completed the game at around 110 moons, but had very little automation figured out yet, so when bigger fights broke out on the map, my cards went all over the place if enemies bumped into them. I really like how the game allows for different playstyles though and doesn't force you to do everything "right". You can build your city to practically run automatic with very little input from you and fix your cardstacks for a definite order, or you can manually produce whatever you need whenever you need it and throw it whereever you currently have space.

Playtime: took me about 10 hours for the main quest and a little over 2 hours on top to figure out the rest and get 100% achievements. I'm sure it's doable in way less time if you check guides for help on certain tasks or have some previous knowledge, as the game itself provides very little guidance in the beginning, so I made some fatal mistakes in the first few hours that cost me my first run after 40 moons. I played 7 hours just on the day I bought it, so it definitely gripped me fast (my attention span is usually 1-2 hours per session for most games).

Replayability: I personally tend to lose interest in replaying games I already have 100% on, but I can see this game being fun for several runs if you don't mind not unlocking new achievements anymore.

Achievements: all doable in a single run, no need to start over several times to collect everything.

Graphics: I really enjoyed the simple and playful style. Later in the game the board can get a little confusing due to many many cards with different purposes looking similar on a big map, but at that point you usually remember where you left which cards on your own.

after just shy of 300 hours of playtime I got 100% of the achievements in Slay the Spire, and it's almost sad there's been no real goals left to complete for me ever since.
I can wholeheartedly recommend this game to anyone - it takes the most fun aspects of several common gaming genres and combines them to an engaging experience that's exciting, unpredictable and rewarding with every new run!

One of my favourite games ever!
The tower defense is super fun and there's lots of different ways to combine the different abilities and tower-types.
The colours and artstyle make me happy whenever I play, it's just so joyful and bright ^-^
Also there's SO MANY easter eggs hidden in this game. There's a lot to discover!
One of the few games I can actually play hours without getting bored - as long as there's challanges left to beat :D
The entire series is great, but Frontiers is my favourite due to having the most hidden easter eggs you can interact with, aswell as being the first I played~
It also fixes lots of minor issues and small annoyances I later had when playing the first game of the series.
For example you're now able to stop an action you started by simply rightclicking.

Absolutely amazing game! Probably my favourite out of the ones I picked up this year.

I started playing this for my Halloween-Event and was very positively surprised. The game gives of a super creepy and spooky vibe without relying on jumpscares, which I highly value when it comes to games like this.
The game is visually absolutely stunning, the colours and light-effects are beautiful.
The music is amazing aswell, and gives every level a very distinct feeling (3rd and 5th level especially).
I discussed the story and meaning with my viewers for quite a bit after we finished, it really makes you think!
I had goosebumps all over during the ending scene (I heard there's different endings though)

I had some trouble getting into the controls, which is largely due to the fact I usually play with keyboard only and am in the progress of learning with a controller. It worked smoother than I feared though, apart from a few messups on my part. The game doesn't tell you what to do right away though, so I figured out all controls by trial and error, which resulted in me being stuck in the first room for quite a while. (It tells you how controls work after you successfully used them once.

There were some puzzles that took me a bit to figure out, but I'm generally not a big puzzle person. My viewers had a lot of fun helping me figure it out when I asked for help though. All puzzles make sense and almost everything in your environment is placed there for a reason. This was one of the few times I actually enjoyed puzzles in a game.

All in all I had an amazing time playing this! We finished in about 6 hours, with lots of breaks for talking, as I streamed through the entire game. If you're better at puzzles (and with controllers) you can probably finish a blind run in ~4 hours.

This game has been sitting on my wishlist forever, because I adored the graphics on first sight.
I only skipped through the trailer without sound and read the reviews because I love blind playthroughs, which proved to be a great idea for this game. I had absolutely no idea which way the story would go and got very invested in finding out :3

(+) Amazing style and colours

(+) Great storytelling that involves the player nicely

(+) Ending depends on Choices

(+) Superb Voiceacting, probably the best I've heard in a game so far

(+) Spooky atmosphere that doesn't rely on Jumpscares - been searching for such game!

(-) No Audio Settings, as a streamer I had to turn down the entire desktop audio to effectively get the stream to a nice sound again. I'd usually like to just turn down the music and adjust effects/dialogues slightly

(-) Little to no Tutorial, had to google how to view the map mid-quest after rewatching the stream I can confirm the game didn't tell you and since you don't have control-settings you have to either google or try out

(-) Sometimes picking up items will carry on the story and make it impossible to pick up other items, as they are gone after cutscenes. Makes sense, but sucks for someone who doesn't know the game and therefor has to guess in what order to pick up things

(-) Spoiler: I had a good ending, but only little was discovered about the story. Maybe I'd have discovered more if I made worse decisions, maybe you just have to think your part. I'd have liked to know more and will replay to find missing lore.

Time: 5 hours - including lots of pausing the game for talking and not knowing where to go since we didn't find the map :P

I had lots of fun with this game and enjoyed it a lot. It's one of the few that I could do in one sitting without switching to do something else :)

This game is absolutely amazing!
The soundtrack is great, the characters are great, the humour is great, the story is great.

The pixel-style is something to easily turn people off from buying this, but if you give it a chance you're pretty likely to fall in love with it!

This game has a deep story that will touch most, even people who usually aren't affected by games, with lots of plot twists and a unique humour that made me laugh out loud in the most inappropriate moments.
It's highly replayable and offers lots of content to discover, with different story endings depending on your choices.
The characters are absolutely amazing and the (inside) jokes are hilarious.
The "fights" are sometimes pretty rough, especially if you've got bad reaction times, but it all pays off in the end. 10/10

(And about the community: I streamed this game twice, for almost 30 hours in total + visited their reddit for a techinal issue with the game and only had good experiences with the fanbase. I've heard the stories and don't doubt them, but the people I met were all very helpful and polite)

I've never played a VN before, so I figured I'd just give it a try with the Humble Sekai Project Bundle.
It was rather hard to get into it first, which had nothing to do with "fault" itself but rather with the new type of reading that I needed to get used to first.
In the beginning I really didn't like it, it got better after chapter one though. After chapter two I was finally hooked.
The story was really lighthearted in the beginning and only started to get a bit darker and more intense rather late into the game. Nevertheless both states were fun and reading this was super relaxing.
I can't compare to other VNs as I never played any other before, but the overall picture was positive for me.
The music was fitting and the characters and places, even though not many, were nicely designed.
Sadly not voiced though.

Total reading time for normal-paced readers should be somewhere around 3-4 hours.
Obviously, this offers different things than a traditional book, but for me 15€ would be rather invested in a physical book with more story-content. If you're into VNs the money should be well-invested though. Otherwise I'd recommend grabbing it on sale.

Reading through the past reviews the most important note: This is a Visual Novel! Only buy this if you're interested in reading, because it's not an "actual game", it's a book with visuals and music, as the category should tell!
